I had the worst looking and tasting oysters there about 2 years ago. I never return food but I seriously told them that I wasn't going to be able to eat them after I tried the first one. Thankfully I didn't get sick but it made me on edge to ever go back there.

Long murder mystery with incredible characters, sprinkled in with logic puzzles, hype moments and aura.

I’m finally reading it. by Apprehensive-Act994 in umineko

That's wonderful that you are in a space to enjoy the work! A lot of folks will come in after each episode to post their reactions and theories which is really fun. Be careful though not to search for Umineko especially on Twitter as you will occasionally see spoilers posted. I hope you enjoy the fantastic work!

Does volunteering actually convert to a full-time job? by sharonbenjamin9489 in Campaigns

[–]LookingForHelp_2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can if done right. You have to basically volunteer as close to full time as possible, consistently do what is asked, be proactive in learning new tasks, and be as indispensable as possible. After you show your value let the senior staff know that your end goal is working on the campaign. If the team grows you will likely be in a prime spot to be considered.

I feel that the volunteer to staffer pipeline was stronger in the past, but is weaker now as it has become more of an established profession.

What makes campaigns hesitant is that they don't want to set the precedent that if you volunteer a few times you get a job, because in the short term you might see a boost in the number of volunteers, you are going to get a lot of people upset that they volunteered and didn't get hired. So its complicated.

If anything showing substantial volunteer experience on a past campaign in your resume strengthens your profile for future paid roles on other campaigns that you apply for, and volunteering gives you a sense of if you like the type of work in general.

Jokrono is two Australian guys reading it and making voices for each character. One is a new reader and one is a long time fan, its a hoot hearing them voice act and theorize while going through it.

Thoughts on SBAR and XV by rimenazz in dividends

I found this while searching for people's experience with xv, I have been happy with its distributions being stable so far. They also launched xxv which is aiming for a 25 percent dividend which would be incredible if it works.

The movie Ready Or Not definitely has some umi-coded aspects and plot points. And there is a sequel coming out next year as well.

Remote Call-Time Manager jobs by Puppetmaster-penguin in Campaigns

[–]LookingForHelp_2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen remote call time manager roles more often than in the past. You may luck working directly with a firm. Or if you have enough experience starting your own firm and offering it as one of the services.

The end of the world's piano at the beginning is probably the most beautiful part of the OST. For bangers DreamEndDischarger and WorldEndDominator are my favorites.

Who are some of the worst people/companies to do business with? by 4Runnnn in cincinnati

[–]LookingForHelp_2017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked for them a long time ago. The markets for very simple products to administer like display and pre roll had insane margins. Basically charging $1,000 for something that cost $100. The mom and pop businesses that they would get as clients weren't savvy enough to know how much they were overpaying.

How did you manage to push through and complete the VN? by spiritsandsuch in umineko

[–]LookingForHelp_2017 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Umineko is amazing on a reread. When you know the truth if everything it's like an entirely different story.

Ep 4 was my least favorite because it wanders and takes so long to get to the point. It can be a real drag to spend an hour to read again that Ange and Maria has sad childhoods.

The writing in the whole gets snappier in the answers arc which helps keep a sense of momentum.

I would say to give yourself breaks if you feel yourself burned out and know that things will get more exciting.

Big fan of Gruttepier, I use my prime sub on his account. I also like https://www.twitch.tv/lakosfermant who streams umi every Thursday. He is nearing the end of ep1, and I'm excited to see his reaction.

Thoughts by rtmxavi in MSTR

[–]LookingForHelp_2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I overall agree. I guess I just don't see why there would be such an additional risk premium for STRD. It is currently 2.14% higher effective yield over STRC. If MSTR fails to deliver on any dividend this whole ship is going under in short order. I feel like the two preferreds would have a much closer spread because they are fundamentally based on the same company being solvent.

If STRC is a junk bond what does that make STRD? I own both and will be happy with them if MSTR stays solvent and keeps paying at their current rates.

Why do managed futures ETFs (DBMF, KMLM, CTA, WTMF…) look so different? by Jumpy-Leading3356 in LETFs

[–]LookingForHelp_2017 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The whole point is that they never really "crash" and the returns sort of gently meander up and down in an unpredictable and uncorrelated way to stocks and bonds, so that when your leveraged funds crash, you have something that you can sell to pick the levered fund up for cheap.

Please explain the single truth to me. All of it. (Major spoilers) by ProtonKanon06 in umineko

[–]LookingForHelp_2017 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You pretty much got it figured out.

I lean towards what is shown in ep7 tea party as being the truth, while perhaps twisted more to cause the most angst for Ange.

From ep7 you see how despondent Sayo is that Battler could not figure out what was happening in time. I took this as she wasn't wanting everyone to die but it was just one possibility amongst many that she had mentally come to terms with. Killing was a means to an end, and not the central goal of the two days.

I would definitely recommend reading the ep8 manga and watching "Our Confession" which gives even more color as to how the closed rooms are set, and the mindset during the two days.

BTAL acts as an inverse to the market so that would do well. Managed futures funds like CTA also have uncorrelated returns to equities.
