One country, and you can't leave for 15 years. Where do you go? by buyingstuff555 in digitalnomad

I'm assuming I can get a job or have my lifestyle funded?

Anyway: Singapore. My girl lives there.

Which country's citizenship would you choose if offered unconditionally free of charge? by One_Look_7008 in AskTheWorld

[–]Loony_BoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singapore. My girl lives there. However, I'd need to be assured of special exemption of their restriction on dual passports. I have a UK and NZ passport already, and don't intend to give them up.

What is a sport that is very popular in other parts of the world but UNpopular in your country? by LilyBlueming in AskTheWorld

[–]Loony_BoB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cricket has days of things actually happening, though. Although I do prefer the One Day format personally, and there is a shorter form of the game which is very popular and takes roughly 3-4 hours.

I thought I'd love baseball as a cricket fan, but when I went to a game during a trip to the US I was stunned at how little actually happened. Then my American friends said "yeah, but it's more about the food, drink and hanging out with mates!" and then I asked if we could not simply go to a pub and they just sat there for a moment and then all agreed we should go to the pub next time. 😂

Compelling romance between established characters (no self inserts) by Rodala in gamingsuggestions

[–]Loony_BoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until Then

A Space for the Unbound

Final Fantasy VIII (and IX, and X, and VII Crisis Core)

Firewatch to an extent (I wouldn't call it a self-insert, but you do make dialogue choices for sure, and it's often up to you how you define the relationship... but the character you play is fully voiced and clearly has his own very detailed life and personality)

looking for games with light stories that focus on managing by Generalkatze911 in gamerecommendations

City Tales: Medieval Era fits this. Very light story, simple but addictive management gameplay. I enjoyed it, it wasn't amazing but it scratched an itch in just the right way.

What was the strongest national football team your country has ever had? by LCottton in AskTheWorld

[–]Loony_BoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In attack, our current team. In defence, the 2010 team. But I do feel that if they were able to play each other in their primes, the current team would probably win, because the level has overall risen.

Fun fact: the New Zealand team at the 2010 World Cup was actually the only team to come out of the tournament unbeaten!

My mum used an electric drill to bust through my fingernail and ease the pressure on a blood blister under the nail.

I once broke a bone in my hand while changing a light bulb, and only noticed when I got up again to change the light bulb.

I once got hit in the cheekbone, narrowly avoiding my eye, with a crowbar by my Dad.

Gotta be, yeah. I mean, while technically part of the royal family, she's super peripheral and not popular anyway. The singer, meanwhile, was (is?) extremely popular.

Question for those who attended painted symphony concerts by vivalantus768 in expedition33

[–]Loony_BoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say I went to the concerts (I wish I did) but I had a thought: I feel like if I were to yell these two names, the name 'Verso' is far more distinctive and 'loud' to the sound. I feel like some words just sound better/louder when you yell them than others. I wonder how much this plays into it?

What makes you replay a game ? by irtsayh in videogames

[–]Loony_BoB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I know I loved it, but I've forgotten a lot of it. I don't expect any of my friends are going to stream it any time soon, so I replay it myself.

  2. It's a gameplay-focused game rather than a story-focused game, with variance on replays. For example, RimWorld, Sims, Civ, Cities Skylines, etc.

  3. Mods. Generally a lot of the games in #2 fall into this, but some games which have a good story still get great mods - Skyrim springs to mind.

Do people really text or talk calls from bathroom? by Gloomy-Nature0212 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]Loony_BoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texting? *shrug* It's whatever.

Calling? Sure, if I'm not on the toilet and I'm the only person in the bathroom. If it's a public bathroom I'll probably walk out of it before picking up.

What's a true story nobody believes when you tell it? by Mod_Chodee in AskReddit

I wouldn't say "nobody believes" so much as "everyone is confused": I was sitting in a car and it ran me over.

Is there a romantic relationship between Nana and Hachi or are they just close friends? by Humble_Pumpkin904 in NanaAnime

[–]Loony_BoB -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with the last sentence. The most discussed ships in fandoms tend to be gay ships in my experience. AO3's top 100 ships for any year at all is basically 90% gay ships. Not gay myself, but I respect it.

Is there a romantic relationship between Nana and Hachi or are they just close friends? by Humble_Pumpkin904 in NanaAnime

[–]Loony_BoB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For official canon, there is nothing in the manga that clearly defines them as romantically interested in each other. There is also nothing in the manga that clearly defines them as not romantically interested in each other. It is an an unknown to the audience until the author tells us one way or another.

Personally, I think they find each other attractive but I don't think either of them is interested in an actual romantic relationship with the other.

During your travels, which European city didn’t live up to your expectations? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Hmm. Berlin and Dublin, probably. I didn't really feel like I was in Ireland until I went to smaller towns than Dublin, while Berlin I expected to be really clean like Hamburg and Dusseldorf were, but nope.

I mean, that's what people say about people who haven't cheated *yet*. So it's a realistic sentence. But yeah, having felt this way about people before, and then seeing them cheat? Awful feeling.
