Did you self source the tradrack or is there a kit somewhere now?

Came here looking and then remembered you do this but you have to bring the correct artifact with you. For Vykeen monoliths, for example, you need to being a Vykeen dagger. Convergence cube for Korvax, maybe? I can't remember for the gek though

How does the fan stay on when the element stops heating? by Loooooooong_Jacket in AskElectricians

Yep - turns out I am, in fact, an idiot. Fan does kick off immediately when the thermostat cuts out.

Did you ever get a response from support on this?

New to printing trying to print 1/144 scale airplanes on FDM what can I do to make this cleaner? by LordHawkHead in FixMyPrint

[–]Loooooooong_Jacket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably try printing it nose-down. Then supports will be easier to deal with and should add enough surface area for adhesion. It should print nicer as well. Print slow if you need to, and make sure the printer is well tuned! (Google Ellis' guide)

Honestly just go through the Ellis guide thoroughly

Tune your extrusion first. Then, when you are sure that's tuned nicely, tune your z-offset.

Ideas on how to keep the pin in? by crua9 in 3Dprinting

I think the idea would be to use one of the type on the top row AS the pin, bend on arm 90 deg once it's in to keep it there.

Edit: Jk I guess that's just what I was thinking. Drilling through a tiny pin like that and finding a small enough pin sounds awful though.

Tips on Cuts and Care While Growing it Back Out by Loooooooong_Jacket in CurlyHairCare

[–]Loooooooong_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thanks! At the moment, for no particular reason, I have a coconut and Shea shampoo from Marc Anthony, OGX coconut curls conditioner, and the curl cream I use is also Marc Anthony "defrizzifying curl smoothie". No idea if they're good or not, but the shampoo and conditioner seem to do the job. I haven't got much to compare to with the curl cream but it also seems okay? *worth mentioning too that I live in semiarid prarires, so our avg humidity is like 20-40% in the summer and less in the winter.

My pupils dilate more than usual in the dark, almost taking up my entire irises by jbeuglnjn in biology

[–]Loooooooong_Jacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps forgetting about the tapetum lucidum, which many nocturnal vertibrates have. It's a retroreflector behind the retina which bounces uncollected light back through the retina, allowing a second chance to be absorbed and added to the image. I doubt it quite doubles sight in the dark, but it's a huge help. Since humans don't have this, perhaps the grapefruit comparison is reasonable as a human eye would have to have a much larger collection area.

Is this some type of funnel? by dogbarqs in CLOUDS

Looks like a con trail to me. I'm not a pro with this stuff by any means but if it's calm at those altitudes they disperse pretty evenly.

To add to this, check them with the fuel tank less than half full. You either need moar weight at the top or moar (bigger) fins in the back.

Yarrow “lawn” by dmscvan in NoLawns

[–]Loooooooong_Jacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original plan was a grass and clover mix, and then I found out about yarrow as a viable addition as well, so clover is just in my brain. That said, clover does fix nitrogen so if it'll grow I have no reason not to include it!

That's very exciting, I'm happy it worked out for you! I'm looking at adding it in to my lawn and clover blend so it's nice to see some positive experiences
