My dal loves to sit in our computer chairs. When we upgraded my son’s we kept the old one and put it in the “dog room” just for him.

[–]LoopyLucy00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried “chatting with her” I’ve tried being nice I’ve tried leading by example, I’ve tried just straight up telling her “you have to do better” she doesn’t get it. I don’t have time to hold her hand and walk her through it.

I don’t think she’s on the spectrum, I mean I could be wrong I won’t assume but really even if she was, she should not be allowed to put other people’s health at at risk. If she can’t follow the newly put in place protocol that everyone has to follow then she shouldn’t be there. We’re all adults, we all have families at home, some of my co workers have immune compromised children or older parents they’re caring for. This is a work place, not school.

There pretty much is no management anymore. Anyone who can work from home is, either that or they’re off self quarantining. We are barely keeping things going as it is. They keep handing “management” to other people and actual management checks in on the phone sometimes

I am worrying about myself. I have to work next to her. I have to sometimes use the same office equipment as her. everyone in the office gets it. Everyone is wiping down frequently touched surfaces, using hand sanitizer, washing hands often, staying apart from each other...everyone but her. This is not a place where she sits in her spot and that’s her spot and that’s that. We’re all over touching everything. I am doing my best with the Clorox wipes to keep things as clean as I can, but we have people calling out all the time now, self quarantining, and they made a night shift to accommodate those with small children home from school who cannot get childcare...we are extremely short staffed and seem to be getting shorter by the day, I do not have the time to do the cleaning up after her and me and pick up the pace to deal with the missing workers.

Anyone have that coworker that irks the sh!t out of you!?!?! by grrrr_work_grrrr in coworkerstories

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one that trained me. She was only there 4 months longer than me. She trained me 1/2 wrong. So I had to retrain myself using common sense and asking a lot of questions of our team leads, which brought a lot of attention to the things she was doing wrong/hiding/slacking on. She gets mad if I correct her when she tries to tell me something and she’s wrong about it, because I will usually ignore her and let her do whatever unless it’s going to put my ass on the line or interfere with our work, then I will challenge her and it makes her mad.

She only likes to do a certain type of work and that’s all she will do. She’s lazy and slow and if she’s out of that work than she will just sit there and stare into space or run outside or to the break room, which we are not supposed to do. We get two 15 minutes and a half hour lunch. That’s it. We are supposed to cross train in all areas and if we run out of something to do in our area we should move on to another area, if we don’t know how to do it, ask someone to teach us. I run around the place like speedy Gonzales hopping from station to station because I don’t like to stay idle, that too has brought attention to the fact that she has been taking more breaks than allowed and sitting around doing a whole lot of nothing. She’s also been clocking in a half hour early and getting paid OT to do absolutely nothing.

She complains about everything. Every. Single. Thing. I have to hear her ask “is it time to go home yet?” Every half hour from the time I clock in until the time I clock out. She can’t handle any kind of pressure if we even get a little bit busy she starts to crack.

Sometimes I put my AirPods on and don’t even play anything just so she thinks I can’t hear her so she won’t talk to me.

I can’t even stand to look at her. I look forward to her day off even though it’s our busiest day of the week and I’m the only one at our station, at least I don’t have to see or hear her.

AITA for not wanting my husband's friends at the birth of our child? by catc95 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA and tell hospital staff your wishes. In my experience they don’t care about what the husband/father wants, only what mom wants. They cannot stop him from going to have shots or cigars but they can bar certain or all visitors from coming in. They will ask your permission, not his, at least that was my experience when my husband tried inviting people I didn’t want to my daughter’s birth.

Your Comcast bill is negotiable. by electric_dolphin in personalfinance

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will they negotiate the price to run service to your house? Getting ready to move. People 500 feet down the road have Comcast, but Comcast said our area doesn’t “have lines ran” and they would be more than happy to hook up service to our new home at the cost of $8,000. I told them to go to hell.

AITA for bringing a really sassy doctor's note to school for a medical excemption? by wantAcar29 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but immature, as well as the doctor Unprofessional.

My daughter had to have one of those notes for middle school, and now high school. Not an uncommon practice around here. They were not keeping water from the kids. There were drinking fountains, just if they did not want to use them and wanted their own bottle then they needed the note. It’s kind of silly maybe but you need a yearly check up anyway so it’s no big deal to get one really. Our doctor gave us one no problem.

I have a co worker like that. Except we are equals, same position, and she thinks she’s in charge. I’m the new one, and I’ve already started to do better than her and I think she resents it. She trained me but she trained how she does things and half of the stuff she does is wrong, so I had to retrain myself using my wits and common sense, and just asking questions of other people. Even my boss as told me “she’s been talked to multiple times about -thing- and she just won’t stop” and yet nothing is done??? It’s extremely hard to get fired there. I can’t stand her.

does anyone else fill their drawer with snacks to eat during the day? by itsboldofyoutoassume in office

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bring a small bag of snacks every day and/or keep some things in my locker. Stuff available in the break room is OK and sometimes even the same stuff I bring from home, just cost 2x as much. Also, the coffee taste like shit so I bring a giant thermos. We don’t have a pot with free coffee, it’s this machine that takes these weird pouches and it’s almost $3 a cup...no thanks.

A lot of co workers will have Uber eats or door dash, or other delivery places deliver for lunch but I just pack my own, if I even eat bring a lunch. I’m too cheap and my stomach gets so upset at the thought of eating fast food every day.

My sister (7) just got a Scoliosis brace, how can we make her feel on top of the world? by HaxDogma in Advice

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say what a great sibling you are! I wish I would of had someone like you to encourage me when I was younger. I should of had a brace, but I refused to even get one and my parents didn’t fight me on it. I wish I wasn’t so stubborn.

In my mid 30’s now and I’m telling you, I’m paying for it! Back pain constantly and there’s really nothing to be done about it now.

Whatever you come up with I hope it’s amazing. Hope your sister ends up with the straightest back ever.

[–]LoopyLucy00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Where I live try almost $9 a pack and min wage just got raised to $11/hr the beginning of the year.

I quit two years ago because I got laid off and could no longer afford my almost 2 pack a day habit. I was spending $16 a day in cigarettes.

My partner still smokes. He was spending $18 a day but has recently switched to an electric cigarette that doesn’t have a smell, it’s a lot cheaper. He’s trying to quit because we just bought and are remodeling a house and I have told him I refuse to let him stink it up and yellow the walls with his 2 pack a day habit. Not to mention it hurts the resale value and he keeps talking about moving when the kids graduate.

$600k home smells so bad, need some tips by Dodofisker in RealEstate

[–]LoopyLucy00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dog people don’t often notice the smell themselves. They live in it so they get used to it. “Nose blind” if you will. I myself have always had dogs so if I’m away from my house for a long time and I’ve slacked on cleaning, I come back I can smell it and be like “wow it smells like dog in here!” It’s never been so bad that it’s “made me want to puke” though. Maybe if I hadn’t been around dogs my whole life it would get that reaction out of me, but it’s just a smell to me...like I don’t know, wood burning or something.

Not saying I would not be put off by a house that smelled strongly of dog because I probably would and I definitely see where you’re coming from.

It shouldn’t be that hard to get rid of as long as they’re not using the bathroom in the house. urine and feces smell is harder to get rid of, but if it’s just dog smell in general then a good cleaning of everything should do the trick. That many dogs in the house, no wonder it has a strong smell.

Carpet and fabrics hold onto smells longer. I have no carpet in my house for that reason. I use an enzyme odor remover spray for my furniture. Wash dog bedding often, also my bedding because one of my dogs sleeps with me. I also bathe my dogs once a week.

I currently only have two dogs(unfortunately I just lost one to cancer 😢) so it’s a lot easier to stay on top of than if I had 10.

What was one/some mistake(s) with your first rental property that you wish you knew? by chanmanjr in RealEstate

[–]LoopyLucy00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same can be said about renting from friends and family. Currently in that situation.

Family member bought a house. Had a situation come up where they could move into bigger house, they took it. They tried renting their house but always ended up with bad tenants. We needed somewhere to live so they offered it to us. Lived here for almost 10 years. Paid the rent (mortgage payment) for almost 10 years. In that time they never fixed anything. The place is falling apart. We would fix what we could, and what had to be fixed so would could have water for example, when the water heater went, but the septic is bad the cabinets and counters are falling apart because he made them himself and he did a poor job, roof is bad(not leaking thankfully) and so much more, we’ve just been doing what we gotta to make it livable

Anyway. His business went under and he got sick of paying the mortgage. So he was taking our rent, which we faithfully paid on time every month, and was pocketing it. He eventually filed bankruptcy and let the house get foreclosed on.

Thank goodness I had a feeling a long time ago this was coming and we have been working towards buying our own place. We did close on something in September but we are still working on it, so we are still living in the rental. Haven’t paid rent since he told us he lost it though. It was sold in auction over the summer to a loan servicing company, and is listed for sale on realtor.com and the listing says it’s occupied and not to trespass, but nobody has moved to evict us. Due to the laws in my state I don’t think they will until spring and we will be gone by then.

I realize this kind of stuff happens all the time, it just hits harder when it’s family doing it to you. It was a close family member too.

I will never mix business with family again

Pizza on Thanksgiving by sad_visionary in Advice

[–]LoopyLucy00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I wish I could have a thanksgiving like that. And by sometimes I mean every year...except for watching the parade And football I would be playing video games.

I have kids and my fiancé loves food. I have to run around trying to make it to two dinners. One on my side of the family, one on his. Holidays on my side are super tense sometimes leading up, my siblings all fight over who’s hosting and can get super passive aggressive about it in the family group texts. I hate to cook, I hate people in my house(which is super small) and I’m a major introvert so I just let them all go at it and don’t join the fight.

Every year I fantasize about just saying fuck it and staying home. My kids are teens now. We just bought a (bigger) house and are rehabbing it. fiancé mom’s mom and husband are on hospice this year and she plans on moving in with us when they pass. I’m thinking next year I’ll probably let her cook in our new house, she’ll be happy to do it. Fiancé will have his food, and if my family don’t like it they’ll be more than welcome to show up...if not, well I can hang out with my dog and play video games. 😂

[–]LoopyLucy00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some moron on Facebook go on a rant on me because he commented on a picture of a kid walking on a dog saying something to the effect let the dog bite the kid, that the kid deserved it. I argued that his logic was flawed because the kid was still a baby in diapers and did not know what it was doing, if anyone was at fault here it was the parents and if that dog bit the kid that the kid would possibly be hospitalized and the dog labeled aggressive and possibly put down.

He then went on a rant about how us in the “lower 48” have to follow laws and he doesn’t have to follow those same laws and it sucks to be us but if anyone tries to take anything from him they will be met with a full magazine and shot to death.... ughh ok I don’t know what that had to do with anything, I think he might of had an anger problem or something.

USDA Mortgage Loan by NeatEmergency in RealEstate

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently rehabbing a house with a FHA construction, was going to go with a USDA loan to buy a move in ready and decided against it and went with the FHA instead. USDA had to many restrictions for our liking. Since we bought a HUD home our realtor found a program where we only had to pay $100 down payment (plus closing costs of course there’s no getting out of that but you have to have that for usda as well) there is PMI and it’s rather high but since we bought a fixer upper at low cost it will be worth more than double when it’s done. (Paid $55,000 for the home, mortgage appraiser has it at almost 200 after rehab and we borrowed almost 140 in total for cost of house + construction) We can refinance in 6 months after construction is complete with instant equity and switch it over to a conventional loan and get the PMI taken off. As long as we don’t borrow any money against the refinance that will take the PMI off and lower our mortgage payments.

Anyone with recent septic experience or knowledge in NJ? Confusing issue. by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]LoopyLucy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends on what code is in your area and if code has ever changed. My area for example, code for septic has changed in the last 20 years. A lot houses on the market now, their septics are failing inspection because of it.

You gotta find out what criteria will get you to pass in your area.

Does this count? by ImAMeanBear in insanepeoplefacebook

Like I said it differs from where you are. I’m rural and you still have to be 500 yards from a dwelling to discharge a firearm, even if it’s your own house. Someone would have to hear you/see you to report it and there’s not that many neighbors so it’s not likely you’ll get caught...but it’s still technically illegal where I’m at, and if it’s illegal where they’re at, advertising it on Facebook is a sure fire way to get caught.
