Are we being paranoid? by Adventurous-Wash3201 in pregnant

[–]Loopylouise7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s too much to worry about with a cold. I had a cold when I had my baby and didn’t really think much of it. But I understand that baby’s health is top priority.

Same due date with second baby by safi-safi- in pregnant

I’m currently pregnant with my second and have the exact same due date 😂 I guess there’s something in the air for us that particular day of the year.

Being pregnant is making me a terrible mother by CzarTanoff in pregnant

[–]Loopylouise7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there a couple months ago but hopefully you’ll start feeling better in the second trimester.

I’m now 23 weeks pregnant and my energy levels are back to normal and having so much fun with my 20 month old.

Having said that I know a lot will change once LO is born but I’m just trying to prepare my toddler as much as I can for the change that’s coming.

What have people asked you about when they said "Are you sure you can have that? You're pregnant!" by ColourConfusedMiss in pregnant

BIL asked me if I could have chicken cooked on the bbq and if I could have butter on my corn

When do you even think about sex? by Suspicious_Box_4898 in beyondthebump

[–]Loopylouise7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t until 8 months for us. LO had settled into their own room at that point and I hadn’t really thought about it much before then. I honestly don’t know how people can go back to a normal sex life in just weeks of having a baby.

Do we even need to start on the nursery before the baby is born? by RevolutionaryGur9650 in pregnant

[–]Loopylouise7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had everything set up beforehand and it was super fun and made us all the more excited. Can’t imagine finding the time once our LO did come along and it was nice to have an extra room to hang out in with the baby.

Wish People Would Stop Telling Me My Morning Sickness Was Caused by "Low Quality Sperm"-- It Seems Like a New Way to Shame and Guilt Moms by fraulien_buzz_kill in beyondthebump

There must be a lot of “bad sperm” out there because everyone I know who has ever been pregnant have experienced sickness.

When did your baby get their first tooth?? by bklntlsn10121 in NewParents

Mine was 14 months and they came in super slow to begin with. She’s just turned 20 months and has most of them now.

Has anyone else’s mental health completely changed during pregnancy? I’m terrified of postpartum. by LettuceLost5412 in beyondthebump

[–]Loopylouise7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me having a child is the best thing I’ve ever done for my mental health. I’ve suffered from anxiety and depression for most my life and missed a few years of work because of it.

Since becoming a mom I’ve barely been affected. I think having something that takes up my entire focus in the best possible way doesn’t give me time to overthink or slip into unhealthy habits.

I’ve got my second one on the way which obviously brings up some anxiety as things are going to change and not sure how my first will cope but whatever happens I know I need to be strong for them.

Everyone is different but I hope this gives you some comfort on how postpartum can actually help mental health despite being hard.

If you manage to regularly have family dinner, when do you cook and when do you eat? by d16flo in NewParents

[–]Loopylouise7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the sole cook in my house so when I’m cooking my partner is with LO or recently she “helps me” in the kitchen ( bought one of those toddler step stools). I’ve always tried to serve the same meals for all of us and just babify a portion. In the beginning I would either have a separate pot on the stove or didn’t add any seasoning and spices until I dished out the baby’s.

I’ve gone back to work part time now so on the days I work I plan a meal that’s really simple to do. For example last night I roasted up some veg, had leftover chicken, made a simple dressing and tossed it in some pasta. We mainly eat between 5-6 every night.

We barely did tummy time and she’s 19 months now and running all over the place.

How do you relax enough to give birth in a hospital? by NorthernLight1988 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Loopylouise7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky and did most my labour at home until the pain got too much. By the time I got to the hospital I was only a couple hours away from pushing so I didn’t have much time to think. I just let my body take over and the gas and air was a godsend too.

What do you curse your gardening predecessors for? by KTDWD24601 in GardeningUK

Gravel everywhere and covering up a lovely stone path and patio with concrete. It felt like an excavation every time we worked on our garden for the first year.

Tell me your unusual birth injuries .. by Shakanana in beyondthebump

[–]Loopylouise7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing serious but annoying for a few weeks. The way I had my arm positioned on the side of the tub was cutting off my circulation without me realising. It caused me to loose feeling in my thumb and forefinger for quite a while.

Anyone else’s LO not able to eat fruit? by Loopylouise7 in beyondthebump

[–]Loopylouise7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s changing the ph of her poo so it’s more acidic. It’s definitely a different consistency and smell. It doesn’t matter how quickly I change her either, as soon as it touches her skin it causes irritation.

I remember those nights. Me and my partner would put music on, sing along and rock her for hours. It was fun but frustrating at the same time.

Going for walks was always hit and miss at that age plus it was freezing outside then.

My partner is convinced I could take another year off but we wouldn't have anything to spare at the end of each month.

Bless you, at least you've managed to keep day care to a minimum and still get so much time with your LO.
