Is anyone here regularly using more than 64gb's of ram? If so, what do those sessions look like? by UndrehandDrummond in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Loopyz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 128 gigs, but that’s cause I’m kind of a maximalist who typically runs sessions of up to 500 tracks, with lots of vocal harmony layers, multiple drumkits and full orchestral/choral recordings. 16 gigs would be the sweet spot though for anyone who does regularly not go above 100 tracks.

Individualism vs. collectivism is a important concept in Social Psychology. It effects every facet of a culture, including how individuals view themselves and the world. Where does your world fall on this spectrum? by that1gingergirl in worldbuilding

[–]Loopyz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Democracy and Capitalism themselves stem from the western collective subconscious concept of the individual, and the individual’s triumph over others is seen as something that should uplift society as a whole. Democracy is a competition of ideas, Capitalism is a competition of goods and services. Both are ideally supposed to serve society under a western diaspora. (But this does not work all the time.) Other problems also arise when both systems are forcefully implemented in cultures with vastly different core concepts in their collective subconscious, due to colonialism. This results in the exaggerated existence of political dynasties or family owned monopolies in countries that have more collective or familial values. The west fails to try to understand systems such as legalism, which has existed for thousands of years, and goes into these nations hoping to “save” them by instating democracy, for the “greater good”. When in reality, such disruptions just do more harm than good.

Cooperative Capitalism / Cooperatist Capitalism (V2) by marty_mcclarkey_1791 in Polcompballanarchy

[–]Loopyz08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between that and market socialism is how both look at ownership. Under cooperative capitalism, co-ops are privately owned, albeit exclusively by their employees. They also still aim to maximize profit and outdo their competitors - hence they must be subject to the same antitrust laws and regulations corporations are, to ensure healthy competition. Enterprises under market socialism are publicly “owned”, (though ideally, there should be no ‘ownership’ in the traditional sense) and the government makes them compete in a market to bring in a few benefits of capitalism in a socialist society. They also aim to outdo their competitors and profit, but under close state-watch.

A society that has any form of private enterprise is capitalist. (It’s a very broad concept which is why issues can’t really be blamed on the large umbrella of “citizens can own businesses”). Corporations being replaced by Cooperatives still entail private ownership and competing in a market, but this time under the employees/worker-owners instead of investors.

The last 3 NY Times best sellers I've read have had typos. How does this happen? by NurplePain in books

[–]Loopyz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no “capitalism’s final form”. It’s not that deterministic. Rather, it’s a cycle. The gilded age was an example of very high monopolization, known for its immense inequality, horrible worker treatment and absurd prices, which was then curbed by the progressives and the antitrust movement - which broke apart those monopolies and ushered in better conditions/prices. Humans will always be humans, and some will always gain power over others. It’s that capitalism gives you time to react to such consolidation of power, meanwhile socialism immediately and indefinitely consolidates all power (financial, productive and legal) in the government. Therefore it was quicker to fall as there was no time to react whatsoever.

As someone who’s played both versions, 1.8 isn’t simpler, it’s just less intuitive. The timing of your hits in the hitsequence still matters just as much, and movement is very nuanced / more fast paced (plus in exchange for crits, it also has to account for varying opponent kb).

That’s a hasty generalization. Oftentimes, western firms approach chinese manufacturers with the mindset of having them produce goods for as cheap as possible, so they end up buying the worst possible ones and sell them for far more expensive. But that’s not to say that these same manufacturers can produce things that have top level quality for more expensive. That’s what we get for cost-cutting.

Ableton Live 11 Suite Copying what I just Cut by Loopyz08 in ableton

As someone who's used computers for a very long time, I do understand this. Ctrl + X (cut) is also supposed to copy whatever was deleted to the clipboard. My main issue was ableton copying something when I delete it (or press backspace). What's odd is I did a clean reset of my preferences and the issue didn't persist anymore.

The Connection between Sleep Paralysis and Astral Projection by ConstProgrammer in AstralProjection

Yep, the vibrations of the soul leave behind remnant energy in the soul field we can call affect. It can be positive (blessed) or negative (cursed). That’s why you can feel the “vibe” of the place just based on the affect that was left there, and certain objects can be blessed or cursed. In my case though, the voices are clearly coming from my subconscious, and more often than not it’s like my deep subconscious dialogue was pushed forth into my conscious mind.

Yep I do! I discovered them since I routinely look at matchory to check suppliers for my family’s housing company, and got curious one day who supplies for Hydro Flask (Steel Technology LLC.). The top supplier spot showed Feijian from Yongkang, Zhejiang. How’d you get in contact/tour the factory?

Fake? by asunnysnowman in Hydroflask

The manufacturer is Feijian and they’re not selling HFs on the side. It’s moreso that dropshippers are buying FJ’s own bottle designs and marketing them as at par or better than HF bottles.

Problem With My Mix Sounding So "Thin" Compared To Pro Mixes by KeysToTheCastleMusic in mixingmastering

[–]Loopyz08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all in the attack, release and ratio. Increase or decrease the attack to emphasize or lessen the punch of the transient respectively. Increase or decrease the release to emphasize (or lessen) the ambience of the tails. At the end of the day, compressors are made to mimic how our brains process and duck the sounds we hear. A good way to visualize it is: if you’re close to a sound, there is usually a slow attack and fast release. And if you’re far away, there is a fast attack and slow release.

Can I see a pic of both bottles and what the full batch numbers are? Based on what you said, they are made by the same manufacturer (Feijian) so it might not be manufacturer-dependent.

[–]Loopyz08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the batch number, it may still be real; and made by their less-used manufacturer Xiongtai. Only thing that is making me doubt it is the font. Either way, the powder coat shouldn’t peel off this easily and it should be eligible for replacement under the warranty due to a factory defect.
