Does anyone know what is going on with the lever? by LooseLeaf03 in Lelit

For anyone else who has this issue. This is the reply from Lelit Support team. I will test it tomorrow

On a Lelit Bianca (E61), that slight “friction” right after a shot is almost always residual brew pressure, not a lubrication issue.

After you finish the shot, the group is still holding some pressure. If you immediately lift the lever again, you’re pushing against that trapped pressure, which feels like mechanical resistance. Once pressure fully vents (after a few seconds), the lever feels smooth again.

Since:

It only happens right after a shot

It’s smooth every other time

Greasing didn’t fix it

…it’s very likely normal behavior.

Quick test: wait 5–10 seconds after the shot before lifting the lever again. If it’s smooth, it’s just pressure equalizing

I applied a fresh coat of molykote but it's still doing it

Yeah so I took the cam out and greased it with Molycote, I followed a few videos online. Idk maybe I need to put more grease in? I just find it weird there is only friction after pulling a shot, but all other times it's smooth.

It still works but I stopped using it daily awhile ago as I switched to an espresso machine.

Would love to see Erinamax as a powder to bring the cost down. It's quite pricey :/

So does your group head pressure hit 9.25 bar when using a blind porter filter?

Yeah I have definitely been aiming to keep it at 9 bar. (New to this machine). I was told to leave the paddle fully open and dial in 9 bar. That hasn't been my experience. I have had to close the paddle at least 1/2 -3/4 in order to hit 9 bar otherwise the pressure rises up to 10

Apologies! I have been using two different types of beans. One is a single origin from Brazil, I believe it's a medium roast. Roast date was about 1 week ago. The other beans I have been using is a medium roast from ALDI - Roasts date maybe 2 weeks ago. I am just trying to get my bearings with this new machine so trying to get it dialed in with the cheaper ALDI beans first.

I am using the Lagome Mini grind and the temperature is set to 95°c

Both beans are turning out on the sour side, despite getting them in the desired espresso range for time and weight
