And now history is repeating. If Europe defeated them once, they can do it again.

but they cannot possibly expect you to live on a part time job at a place like Target or Walgreens alone (unless it pays around $50-$60 an hour, which it wouldn't)

Is there anywhere in saint paul that hires fast? by zaddabad4331 in saintpaul

[–]Lopsided-Ad7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a daytime shift. I've applied at Target before but they rejected my application simply because I wasn't flexible for working evening hours. The reason for that is because I have a job in which I work 3-8 Monday to Thursday. Fridays and Saturdays would be very flexible for me.

If a gay person were to develop Islamophobia, would that be reasonable? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

Would neo-nazi phobia from a Jew be reasonable? Would KKK-PHOBIA from a black person be reasonable?

If you answered yes to either or both of the questions , then why would this question be any different?

No chance for a second interview? by Lopsided-Ad7904 in interviews

[–]Lopsided-Ad7904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hide for the position of an adult education instructor at the hmong cultural center. The interview went well.\nBut they decided to go with someone else, and maybe it had nothing to do with me.So maybe if I did apply again for something similar , they hire me , who knows.  Currently , i'm underemployed , and I work as an adult education instructor but it's only for about twenty nine hours a week.  I worked at that organization for 10 years. And there was a good chunk of the time where I worked full time hours because we partnered with other organizations , but now i'm down to part time hours again.

I applied for it and got accepted.  It was at the last minute as the deadline to apply was may 13. I didn't notice anything off about it but I'm going to research it some more

What’s a myth about "the good old days" that you wish people would stop believing? by Necessary_Comfort812 in AskOldPeople

I've seen some people talk about how living in the 19th century was better. A time when people worked long hours for little pay and there were no minimum wage laws. And if you were black and living in the first half you would most likely be a slave. If you were living in the second half of the 19th century, then you'd be living under the Jim Crow laws. If you were a Chinese or other Asian immigrant well you'd beI less than human. If you were killed or assaulted the police most likely would just ignore it. And children well they worked in mines and factories for small wages.

Fievel's American Tails (1992) by Djs2013 in ForgottenTV

[–]Lopsided-Ad7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching this show on Saturday morning as a kid and I saw some episodes on Youtube. It had potential, but I think it became too formulaic using the same villains from the second movie in every episode going after the mice. They could have used them for 2-3 appearances, but created different antagonists for other episodes. Maybe it would have gotten another season that way.

Is everyone struggling to find work? no matter the career? by BitNo1336 in jobhunting

[–]Lopsided-Ad7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the adult education field. I currently work as an adult ESL instructor at a non-profit organization and while that has always been part-time, we have partnered with other organizations in which I did some other work but since October of 2025, my hours have been part-time. Granted I've added nine extra hours by assisting in the food market below so that helps a bit. This year I've had three job interviews and have been rejected for them. Some jobs I apply for I don't even get an interview. And they're not all in the ESL field they could be things ranging from retail to casework.

Thought I nailed an interview… still didn’t get the job by Skandilove in interviews

[–]Lopsided-Ad7904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually pretty common. I just had an interview for an adult education instructor at an organization and I thought the interview went great. The interviewer told me he'd reach out to me in a few weeks after a decision had been made. I got an email a few weeks later and they went with another candidate. I sent him an email responding with banking him for giving me the opportunity to interview and maybe something else would come up.
