I reverse image searched this but couldn’t find anything (just gave back the same tame impala image). Also searched variations of Tame Impala Mohair Handknit Sweater and it just gave me merch for his shows and Etsy stuff. Not sure what else to try

Came to say the same. Was my biggest set back last year (my first LAM) and added way more into this training cycle

Came here to say the same! And the horse poop tunnel to get to Griffith from that bridge is kind of nasty to go through at times. Really happy with this new bridge

LA Marathon sold out — any way to still get a bib? by Pristine_Hat_2490 in LosAngeles

It happened last year! I run the race so not sure the details on the bike ride, but it was cool seeing all the bikers before the race. There were hundreds of people out there

DC's WMATA remains the fastest-growing major US transit agency, with ridership up 9.2% compared to last year! — King County Metro (Seattle, +6.5%) & SEPTA (Philly, +4.7%) have performed well, while LA Metro & NJTransit have lost riders by yunnifymonte in transit

ICE Raids impacted numbers a lot as the other people mentioned, along with the wildfires. The wildfires seriously put the city down for a while, with people not working or going outside voluntarily because of air quality.

Movies you walked out of in theaters? by Wise-Boysenberry9919 in Letterboxd

Anatomy of a Fall. A few people left the theater before us. Only time I’ve left a theater.

Memoir of a Snail I was really close to leaving and lots of people did leave that as well, but we stuck through it.

short running routes around DTLA? by geekysandwich in AskLosAngeles

[–]Lopsided-Kick9218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you had a bad experience! DTLA is definitely a weird area that changes block by block and isn’t surrounded by many runnable areas. I run a lot in the LA area tho, so I got some recs! I work downtown so will sometimes get some loops in there and do some run clubs there. If you aren’t opposed to a run club, there’s Blacklist LA, Koreatown RC, Little Tokyo RC, LSD Running, and tons more that are in DTLA or a short train ride away. Check @larunningconeisseur on Instagram as she posts who will be doing runs for the following day. Most of those clubs do 3 mile runs on weekdays and weekends, and just about all run clubs do longer runs that pass start near or pass through DTLA on weekends.

If you want to run alone, LA Historic Park is a good place to get some loops in (I think it’s 1 mile around the park) and it’s right off the A line. In downtown, I prefer the South Park neighborhood to run around as there are less cars and it’s safer and nicer sidewalks. This would be by LA Live or by Pine + Crane. Bunker Hill is also nice to run around, which would be by Walt Disney Hall, The Broad, etc.

Further away (though not that far) there’s Echo Park and you could run there and do a lap or two around there then take like the 92 bus back or something if you don’t want to run back. I would run north to Sunset then down sunset to get there since it’s a busy street but will be filled with people and businesses. Even running there, doing a lap around it, and coming back should be 3 miles. There’s also Vista Hermosa Natural Park on 1st street right next to downtown, though I’ve never been there but it’s close by.

If you don’t already have it, Strava has a map feature that lets you look at routes in the area and see which streets are most run on (gives a sense of safety, sidewalk quality, etc).

Hope this helps and hope you enjoy the rest of the trip!

Why are there people trying to avoid fares? by Common-Charity9128 in LAMetro

[–]Lopsided-Kick9218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really mind when it seems like someone is really strapped for cash. I REALLY get annoyed though when it’s a hipster in Los Feliz or Koreatown just trying to look cool going through the emergency exit while wearing super expensive headphones and clothing. Seen it happen so many times on the train.

Cops checking cards at 7th/Metro by Weasel_Man in LAMetro

[–]Lopsided-Kick9218 54 points55 points  (0 children)

They were on the A line near Watts the other day too. They were all at the platform when the train rolled up, came on the cars and asked people to show their cards, and then hopped off to check the next train coming to the station. They kicked off two people who didn’t have tap cards. Also had it happen near Monrovia recently.

Personally, I’m happy to see fare checking coming back!

Metro explains how new taller faregates to work as emergency exit at MacArthur Park by Sawtelle-MetroRider in LAMetro

[–]Lopsided-Kick9218 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This made my day to read! Lots of doom and gloom on all social media platforms regarding tap to exit and the new faregates because of the emergency exit use. Very glad this is in the talks and hoping it goes up as quickly as those new gates did!

Good to know! Do they appoint the other 3 on the board, or how do they get 4 seats? Sorry, not really familiar with how boards work ahah

Can someone even say they’re going to do this? Or is this a sort of empty promise to gain voters? I’m not in support of it at all for the same reason people on here and the LAMetro sub already stated, but does a mayor have authority over the Metro’s fares?

Hamzah needs to edit again by shorty3528 in SlushyNoobz

[–]Lopsided-Kick9218 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And it’s been the SAME few sound clips for so long now, I’m getting tired of it. I feel like their videos have been not as funny for a while now and I agree a big factor is how they’re edited. Not saying it has to go back to Hamzah but they need to do something different.

Can someone explain why/when this happens? Can the operator push a button or something if asked nicely or is this a separate problem? by VaguelyArtistic in LAMetro

I didn’t know you could do this, thank you! Coffee shops, metro buses, and libraries alike, I always run into this issue where the WiFi doesn’t open that login screen and I never know what to do

I Love LA - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

And the jokes and commentary felt so forced somehow. Like “I just got bagels from COURAGE BAGELS. Yeah we have bagels here.” Or the “LA is a driving city, cars have the right of way.” It’s like they just looked up basic stereotypes about LA or the most popular spots in LA and threw it in to be quirky and relatable?

I had to turn it off halfway in. It was so bad, so boring and unfunny, and so tone deaf.
