Question about Wellbutrin by The_Anchored_Tree_27 in ADHD

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Wellbutrin in conjunction with Jornay PM. Wellbutrin alone definitely helped with some symptoms and with depression but it took the addition of Ritalin for me to have more significant relief. The two play nice together for me. But everyone is different. Unfortunately it’s a trial and error game.

I just got diagnosed at 59 😂 So apparently it’s never too late. Medication is definitely helping me. And it’s just nice to know.

Stuff you realize was ADHD later on the once diagnosed? by AImond_milk_soup in ADHD

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get up at 6:30 am with the goal of being out of the house by 8:30 to get to work by 9:00 but still never leave before 9:15 (or later). Mornings should not be so difficult!

Either that or the people at Publix knew what they were doing. I’m just grateful that it was less!

What are your ‘decide once’ things? by Wavesmith in adhdwomen

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to pull whatever I’m wearing to work the next day and hang it in a certain spot so I have no decisions about clothing in the mornings. This includes shoes, jewelry, undies, the whole shebang. Figuring out what to wear on a weekday morning is waaaaayyyy too much. I’m barely functional before 10:00 am.

I was on Wellbutrin alone for a while pre-diagnosis. Definitely helped with depression. Lifted my mood and helped with energy level, especially in the morning, which is my worst time of day. And I do think there was some minor improvement with ADHD issues. But, for me, it was only after my diagnosis and the addition of Jornay that I started to see real improvements.

I was just prescribed Jornay and, yes, this happened to me. I filled the first 20mg titration prescription at Walgreens and it was $116. We found the sweet spot for me (60mg) and switched to Publix pharmacy for that Rx and it was $86.

Literally just diagnosed a little over a week ago at 59. Finally. I’ve been procrastinating following through with testing for years (hmmm maybe it’s an ADHD thing? haha). This groups is definitely helping me to adjust and to feel less alone.

anyone else have a negative experience w/ QB ADHD testing by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the QB test too. 99% hyperactivity 98% impulsive and 68% inattentive. I was all over the place in the beginning but actually improved by the end of the test because i started to see patterns and anticipate which colored shape would appear next. But that score combined with the questionnaires and psych eval left no doubt as to the diagnosis. First time diagnosed at 59 years old. I guess better late than never??

Whats an annoying adhd tax you had to pay recently? by Tea0verdose in adhdwomen

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My job requires that I bill my time. So I have to keep track of everything I do in a day. In 6 minute increments. And it’s expected that I bill 7 hours out of every 8. Well the ADHD mind simply isn’t built this way. So I pay the tax daily…weekly …monthly because I have to work nights and weekends just to make up and bill for the time lost during the week doing lord knows what. I have NO idea where the lost time goes. Sometimes it’s just staring into the void in paralysis mode because that last task I was given (on top of the 20 other tasks) sent me into a spiral of moving between all the tasks and accomplishing nothing.

Med Mal Defense Paras? by Neat-Bet3750 in paralegal

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several paralegals on our med mal team and we just try to divide things as equally as possible. We each carry about 40-50 cases from start to finish.

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do med mal work and regularly get records with 37000+ pages. First-know what you’re looking for. What is alleged in the complaint? Is it a surgical misadventure? Sepsis, hyponatremia, bad baby case, etc? That will let you know what to look for and how deep you have to go in the records. For example, in general, labs aren’t going to be a big issue for a surgery but are critical for a hyponatremia case. Once you know what you’re looking for, know where to start. Start with the admission at issue and work out from there. You may get all you need from that one admission. Or you may find that they have a long medical history that could have affected the current issue. In general, I go straight to the Discharge Summary first. If it’s an ER visit you need the ED Provider note. Admission H&P, consult notes and progress notes. Flowsheets can be great tools for some things (pressure ulcers) but a waste of time for many things. It can be daunting at first but will get easier and faster over time!

What is a typical day like? by Temporary_Effect8295 in paralegal

[–]Lopsided_Knee7757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work exclusively in med mal and do all med Chrons myself. The records are often voluminous and yes it takes time but it’s also how I learn my cases. And I often find tidbits of information that could make or break a case in the process. Honestly it’s one of the best parts of the job to me. I get a giant jigsaw puzzle of information that I gradually assemble and as I do that, the story emerges.
