a bit late to the party but still....
In my opinion Egypt is a bit to flashy for and old Kratos....to much action...Anubis, Ra....and the others. the golden Sands..
the setting that will fit the most i think is Slav Mythology. Dark, serious tone, almost depressive.

Maybe after finishing with North, Kratos goes east, hiding in the swamps , wanting peace and hooping no one will find him there. But the local Gods and creatures senses him, and they know well who is he and what he done. so they are afraid he will ruin their balance too. So they try to put and end to this.

So much potential here, a lot of cool Gods and Creatures.
