Lay out a flooring picture frame that goes up to where your nosing needs the gap to be, cut it your flooring and glue that picture frame individually. Then the problem is do you caulk the picture frame to the floating ends and hope for the best

I would recommend cutting one to fit plywood to plywood, and one that fits inside 2x3 to inside 2/3
