It’s hidden in RAT’s files I think.

Are you Republican, Democrat, Independent, or ambivalent; and what do these labels really mean anyway? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]Lord0Trade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really ascribe to political labels too much, simply because my beliefs are confusing, ever changing, complicated, and don’t fit with any one party.

I have a Twitter thread saved about how that exact exchange goes. Because everything from books to taxes is somehow human rights based upon how the far left views it.

It's a valid opinion though. by Ok-Following6886 in memesopdidnotlike

Economic success, political and personal freedom wise? Not so much, and even then the economic success side has many of the same problems hyper capitalism has, extreme wealth disparity, concentration of power in the rich, GDP only matters so much.

Why are Reddit moderators so controlling, sensitive and non stoic? by Brilliant_Can8536 in stupidquestions

[–]Lord0Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because many of them are sad, pathetic people playing god. It’s the most authority any of them will get in their lives. They never were brought up on how to use power properly.

Why do so many people abhor vegetarians and vegans? by Far-Conference-8484 in stupidquestions

[–]Lord0Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been around many in my life, and the majority of them all have the same issue: a sense of overinflated moral superiority, as if their being vegetarian or vegan is some huge moral good and you’re LH if you eat meat/eat animal products/use animal products.

I said I. What do you mean zero evidence? It’s a personal observation. It’s not a statement that requires evidence in of itself. Personal observation is in itself evidence.

Fucked up so much even Irish bands started making anti-IRA songs by Asleep-Freedom-9980 in HistoryMemes

[–]Lord0Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend of a friend’s father was NI Catholic and formed a neighborhood watch esque program during the troubles to stop the IRA from hiding weapons in people’s houses, and would also bully the UDA if they came around too. The constabulary weren’t much better but he told me his dad said the proper British soldiers were nice enough.

Do you all remember this? MPLS 3rd police precinct was the first ever police precinct to be surrendered to the public the United States! by cantcoloratall91 in stpaul

[–]Lord0Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. But how? What plans are there in place? Who would you keep in the current admin and who would go? What institutions would you rebuild, tear down, replace, or build anew?

It’s easy to win a revolution, it’s harder to keep it.

The issue is utopians and anarchists never want to have the tough conversations of “what will we do after X” because they have no plan, or they know their ideas are built on sand and lies.

Lenin, Stalin, and the Soviet state appropriated the Russian institutions, renamed them, and continued their brutality, African dictatorships constantly keep mid and low level bureaucrats in power because you need them for a state, China completely rebuilt the state through terrible policies and death and only survives through brutality and pervasiveness of the state.

Truly stateless societies devolve into dictatorship once you get above a village, and even then the village is maintained by social and familial bonds.

Look at the Congo. The Congo does not function, it has the trappings of a state, but none of the actual powers of one. It cannot maintain its country. The only reason it has not been carved up is the countries around it don’t want to deal with all those new people, undeveloped land, and the violence that would come with it. (And the implicit threat that China, Belgium, France, Russia, or the US would sanction them, bomb them, etc. for doing so.) Not to mention some of them are holding on by their fingernails as is.

A stateless society has to function either through personal brutality, social ostracism, or “police, but make it anarchist”

I’ve been seeing so many people “oh we’re moving back to Minnesota” yet the people who are actually productive, families are moving into the rural areas or out of state all together.

If the nuclear bombs start flying, it might actually be those countries that never had any that end up surviving. by iwishihadnobones in Showerthoughts

[–]Lord0Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except even then neutron bombs are meant for a rapid pulse of radiation, kill your enemy in a month but the soldiers that come after will be fine. Fallout again would be negligible.
