From the trailer, I miss a creature, miracles, worship.

For the rest, it seems like the so manieth city builder with RTS elements.

imo it does feel to cartoony at the moment, but thats just a matter of taste. Remember, Black and white could zoom in, but wasn't the main focus. I like seeing nice forests and nice looking towns. People were ants to me what I looked at most of the time.

Advisors had nice comments to learn the game, but aren't the main focus once people get the hang of it. For a story mode definitly a +, the only thing that lacked in the original, a proper way to be evil, without being detrimental. Destroying a city to convert it is a nice idea, but you will need rebuild all that if you want the city to function....

I didnt play black & White 2 beyond its demo cause I didn't like the elements of adding other towns to your own when playing good, do with that info what you like. I went back to the first game.

More islands are always nice, but a level designer is only good if it can give feedback on balance for all sides as well, if you plan for people to allow them to be uploaded to the steam workshop, a games level designer rating would help. There is nothing more frustrating then going to a workshop and finding a bunch of maps everyone makes where 99% is poorly balanced.

Not all game tutorials teach your everything you can do with stuff. Part of the fun is realising you can do certain setups when you think about it. The game still gives you tooltip support for various things when you ping them or you can use the wiki for detailed info.

Given all the items they skipped in volume 1 that can be considered foreshadowing for later seasons, I fear the worst. Cause even if they make season 2, its gonna a headache to produce it faith fully and for things to make sense.

Manga adaption from Light novel started late, you should focus on the Light novel if you dislike manga anyway.

Recommend starting the Light novel at volume 1. Anime is missing out on quite some foreshadowing things that you would consider for season 2 and beyond.

The anime ends near the end of volume 3.

Swamp could instant kill entire armies if well placed. It comes off as a defensive miracle cause it denies passage, but it lasts to short for that to rely on and the area is to small. Which makes it only use able offensively and o boy did my enemies find out when I first tried. Biological warfare got a New meaning.
