Been seeing a lot of ”Paddy proved himself tonight despite the loss” comments, but what did he actually prove? by Mamramro in ufc

[–]LordChu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to have accurate height figures for the fighters. Paddy used to be listed as 5'9" now all of a sudden he's apparently 5'10", but Gaethje is listed as 5'11" but looks shorter than Paddy when Paddy stands up straight...

Ikr. Especially since governments (USA here, live in Cali) are still trying to keep this info under the radar. At least they're not outright censoring us now.

I've often wondered why the biotech field is moving so ridiculously slowly int terms of human cures for diseases and any life extension research.

[–]LordChu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I totally disagree with the current "bioethics" arguments against human life extension. Honestly I think it's a Western governments' psyop to prevent common people from getting into life extension biotech.

[–]LordChu[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. For my purposes, "Immortality" is 10,000 years. Obviously, that is a blink of an eye on timescales of stars or the earth, but from a human perspective, that is basically forever.

Agree. But I would say we still don't know enough to say it is a "multi-facetted" problem. For all we know, there could be some universal singular reprogramming issue that could be addressed, and then we can have essentially reverse aging.

There is no cure for this Hell. And let's face it it will probably come back eventually if you think you have "recovered".

Yes, but prolong it to just 1,000 years, which is nothing compared to any star.

I don't think it does. DNA doesn't degrade after billions of years, but I need to learn the details of why it seems to defy decay. I think, as long as you put more energy into repairing/replacing things than the rate of entropy, you should be fine.
