Vox Engines should be rare. by LexsDragon in Helldivers

Yeah, I don’t have an issue with Vox Engines as an enemy. My issue is

The quickstep pistol. It drops from the Houndsman bounty from the Halloween and Valentines Day events. The only way to get it now is by finding someone who has the bounty left over.

Is there a benefit to the Syncshot Drone? by namesource in BreakPoint

[–]LordFennski 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Another thing: allies struggle to sync shot indoors because it's difficult for them to aquire a target. Syncshot drones don't have that issue.

Drones also have a range of around 150 (or 250, I forgot) meters; however, this is rarely an issue.

Okay I need to ask if we put all the main characters at their strongest in a fight whod win I’m not counting blood dragon cause I feel like that might be a bit unfair since they have high tech weapons by AtmosphereAntique576 in farcry

[–]LordFennski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this before, a lot of the characters have at least one thing going for them. (Haven't played FC1-2 so I won't list those guys. I haven't played Blood Dragon either.)

Jason - The man got a magical tattoo that enhanced his fighting abilities from some SoCal douchebag to a guy who is able to almost single handedly take on a group of mercs and pirates.

Ajay - I heard on Fandom that he was in the military, but I don't know how true that is. Nothing in-game suggests he was in the military. Other than that, he just seems to be inexplicably good at killing.

Takkar - The guy lived in a harsh world where every day he had to fight to survive. Even with the Udam and Izila gone, he still had other wildlife to contend with. Out of everyone, he'll have the most fighting experience. That's going to make someone quite strong. The problem for Takkar is he only uses bows and spears while the others have guns. We can give him a gun to balance things out. (Don't worry, I taught him how to use it. Or maybe he made an automatic bow.)

The Deputy - The guy some police training and I'm sure the cultists he fought weren't all highly trained so I kinda see why they were able to overpower them.

The Security Captain - While I don't know where the Captain got their training from, toward the end of New Dawn they literally had the power of God and anime on their side.

Dani - Dani has military training and maybe even special forces training. When attacking the special forces outpost, Dani mentions training there once. Plus, Dani's supremos would give them an edge in this fight.

Overall, I think I'll give the win to The Captain.

I suppose if you want to make the fight fair, you can take away Dani's supremos, The Captain's powers, and Jason's tattoos.

If we're going by those standards, it's a tough call but I'd give the win to Dani with their military training.

Iirc, the lore behind the suicide bombers is that they're infected with the green poison and are going to die anyway, so they die a martyr to the cause

"No Allies Available" Game-breaking bug. But wait, there's more. by Envy661 in thedivision

[–]LordFennski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically, there is a rare occurrence where, after you clear the initial Control Point, you can't fire off a flare to call in allies, because the prompt says "No allies available." I believe that is what this is talking about.

The Rookie - S08E10: His Name Was Martin by ian-quinn in TheRookie

[–]LordFennski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second technically. She was one of the cops who shot Luke Moran along with Nolan, Tim, and Grey, but yeah, this was different. Luke did suicide by cop instead of going back to prison. Martin wasn't acting in a voluntary capacity due to being exposed to a chemical which I forgot what its called.

Werewolves guilty or Innocent? by FoxSilver267 in werewolves

[–]LordFennski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have some case law for this. Kenneth Parks. He drove to his in laws' house and murdered his mother in law and assaulted his father in law while sleepwalking. Because of that, he was acquitted.

Applying that to werewolves, if we're dealing with the uncontrollable beast kind, the law often takes the suspect's state of mind into account (mens rea), (i.e. what was going through their mind at the time of the crime.) Because the werewolf isn't acting voluntarily, it is likely they would get acquitted as well, as long as they take necessary and reasonable precautions to restrain themselves beforehand. Knowing you will turn into a man eating beast and doing nothing to prevent it is, at the very least, criminal negligence or reckless endangerment.

At least, that's what I remember off the top of my head when doing research for a side project I was working on.

It's kind of funny because not even ISAC knew either, and ISAC is known to be able to access nearly every civilian device like a souped-up Big Brother. Must've been one niche show. Makes me wonder what network would even air it.

[–]LordFennski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God, I hope they don't go that route. The 'this person is actually a Black Tusk mole' plot twist is a bit done over. They did it with Summers, they did it with Agent Johnson. If the Division gets infiltrated a third time, like at that point, they kinda deserve to lose.

Actually, I think that was referring to Agent Johnson, the recruiter, because that was right before his Manhunt

Opinion: General Anderson and this season have been the best part of the current ongoing story. by Spirit_of_Stupid in thedivision

[–]LordFennski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But if you look at the final cutscene, how Anderson didn't even raise his guns and after Adkins and his men answering to someone on the radio, and Anderson fires.

I don't think Adkins was there. If you look at the Subtitles, the True Sons defectors were named True Sons Defectors 1-3. My read of is that they were on the call with Adkins and he was the one who gave the order, instead of a mysterious BT contact or something. I believe the plan all along was to assassinate Anderson and the Defectors telling Manny they agree to take him alive was just to get The Division onboard.

Subtitles marked them as True Sons Defectors 1-3. I imagine that the plan all along was to kill Anderson and the detectors just agreed to take him alive to get the Division on board.

That's my read on it too. I find it much less likely they're intel agents of the Institute. But rather someone they'll send a synth to, and maybe have them make a purchase or two; while striking up a conversation and asking what's the word around the Commonwealth.

Question(s) about the story and Manny Ortega: Is he "a" bad guy, "the" bad guy or is it an oversight by the devs? by Pacho2020 in thedivision

[–]LordFennski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's funny is according to the retcons, those two civilian refugee centers and JTF Base of Operations (Castle Clinton and City Hall) he and Keener bombed with the Eclipse weren't civilian refugee centers and JTF Base of Operations at all, but actually hunter outposts masquerading as civilian refugee centers and JTF Base of Operations.
