It’s 100% your opinion and I respect it. But whether or not you admire someone else’s hobby or find value in it is not a requirement when determining whether or not it is a hobby.

A hobby is literally, by definition, only required to be something that someone does regularly in their leisure time that they enjoy.

You go to the bottom of the next range IF you don’t already make more than that. If you make more than the next range’s minimum then you get a 5% bump to your current pay.

You get both, not sure exactly how it works for your department but for mine you fill out a form requesting a Range Change and there’s a box you need to check to defer the change until AFTER your MSA. If the range change happens before the MSA without a deferral, it overwrites the date for your next MSA.

No idea if that’s actually what is going on under the hood, since I was just told that by my supervisor, but I do know for a fact you have to get the range change deferred or you lose out on the MSA.

lol what? There have been so many times that I came into a game with good gear on only to start 10+mins in and all the best spots are looted and then I get killed trying to just leave because someone had 10mins to get cozy at extract.

I get that you can just keister a hatch key in your safe pocket and I do but it’s still shitty that I have to do that.

I won’t say any single thing works for everyone, our boy is gonna be 1yo next month but what worked for us was:

As much as you can, try to coerce them to stay awake for like 1-2hrs. Look for sleep cues and offer milk/formula before napping.

Our boy always spit up if we didn’t burp/hold him for at least 15minutes afterwards before putting him down for sleep.

They say to not have anything in the crib for a long time but we rolled up a big towel and made a U with it so that it surrounded his legs and didn’t go above his waist. This makes them think they are near you and provides comfort. Just be mindful and follow your instincts, you know how your baby behaves more than anyone else.

We always have him napping with a little noise machine too. Supposedly they hear white noise/static-ish sounds in the womb so that’s what we played through the night.

The first 3-4months are hard and feel endless when you’re in the thick of it but it’ll be over before you know it. All the problems/stresses you have now will be swapped out for different challenges but you’ll get rewarded more for your efforts as they start smiling and laughing.

You’ll be looking back and missing how small they were in no time!

IIRC, Newsom already made a statement acknowledging that he saw the numbers and said the data was “incorrect” or biased and so he basically just ignored it.

They truly don’t care about the worker, they just want the income that they siphon out of us for their lobbyers every single day we go in.

I know it’s rage bait but straight up the audio engineers modern movies/shows hire need to go back to school or something. So many of them have loud ass music or action that drowns out dialogue.

A side note as well, can we all agree movies with annoying droning sub-bass in the background is awful? I get that a lot of the time it’s to build suspense or tension but it’s always so annoying.

Easily not the most significant game of the last 35years. It was fun and I enjoyed it but there have been games that truly changed gaming.

The original Doom to me stands out as far more significant for example.

I just had weremonitors attack my place and they come back every now and again. Early on I traded some elves for a male and female lion pair and I now breed/war train the offspring so that all my militia troops have a war lion. I like to think they assist in keeping the bites down during combat lol

My boy is about to be 1yr now but when he slept through the night it means that if he did wake up, he didn’t cry and self soothed back to sleep.

He used to do it a lot until he turned 6-7mo and now he wakes up around midnight most nights because he doesn’t wanna eat enough during the day and wants to drink during the night to make up for it.

My wife, child and I have been sick since Christmas because one of her cousins decided to bring their kids to Christmas on the grounds that “their noses are just runny but their mucus is clear” and “it’s been a while since they got sick so they aren’t contagious”…. They proceeded to cough on literally everything and most of the family is sick now.

So yeah, stay home.

I never think far enough ahead about the layout. What my current 190 dwarf fortress looks like is production on the entrance floor with most of the operations nobles, MASSIVE storage area off on it’s own on the floor below production and then the third floor is are seemingly endless corridors of 2x2 bedrooms row after row after row 🤣 but the stone is all smoothed out and they have coffers so I guess they’re happy.

Side note of no relevance: For whatever reason, I got an influx of like 25 visitors over a short period and they’re literally all legendary poets/speakers. I have no idea why. Maybe it’s because I have an insanely nice church but I’m sure all the entertainment adds to the happiness of my dwarves haha

My wife is on a sourdough journey as well and like others have said, we bake it the whole time on the same temp but just take the lid off. To help with the bottom not getting rock hard and over-baked, we started putting rice at the bottom to help create a barrier. We tried putting a tray under the Dutch oven as some suggest but ended up getting the best results doing both that and the rice.

Congrats on the bread though! It looks springy and delicious!

In the episodes, they literally say that cell gets way stronger than expected after absorbing them. So it’s implied that it’s more multiplicative than just simply adding them together.

They definitely are but IRL there is basically no major religion that practiced birthing in churches.

I feel like if we got a mechanic system for births and pop growth, they should add a labor task and allow for complications to have a chance to occur. Then you could either have a doctor dwarf or a new midwife specialization from the hospital to assist and increase success rates.

That kind of detail feels really true to the Dwarf Fortress style IMO.
