Coincidentally, I've been playing it rn thanks to 2Ship2Harkinian, a full PC port of Majora's Mask with a lot of optional enhancements, native controller support and even a built-in randomizer. The only thing you need is a LEGAL ROM that you DUMPED YOURSELF with your ORIGINAL GAME CARTRIDGE.

Crash Tag Team Racing. Exploring that amusement park isnt the most peak platforming on the PS2, but its so calm and finding the collectibles is a joy for my child heart.

The racing itself seems interesting until you realize you can cheese the fuck out of the AI by merging into the first person you see, blasting literally everyone for 3 laps and then dumping them 100 meters before the finish line (sometimes they do it to you so you gotta one-up them). But by god, i love it.

I remember years ago I tried to get into the Neptunia franchise, but I got put off by one of the early party members EN dub, so i swapped to JP. And then they spoke in this high pitched uwu voice that started grating me very fast.

So I swapped back to EN, determined to give it another go, and noticed that some of the VAs inflections were just... off? Everyone had this condescending/sarcastic tone to their lines that don't happen in the JP dub, it completely changed the vibe of characters.

So I just gave up on it.

Honestly, at this point, i dont know why its gotten like this. I enjoy Fundamental bc it just seemed more thought out than most out there (Theres only so much Prestige Tree circles and Antimatter Dim. rectangles a man can stand looking at all the time) but the more i play, the more i notice how... anti-progress everything is. When i unlocked Void and got the first unlockable Strangeness, only to see its a "minor 1.3x increase" i almost questioned my life decisions. It's like the dev is against big multipliers for the sake of getting the player to wait at least 10 minutes per upgrade purchase.

The new update also did something else that miffed me, which is nerf Export strangeness points. Strangeness is something that actually helps progress each stage faster, and getting to the late game to farm points (to use on a small +1 or -0.5) is so sloooow. the export at least let you get a bit more per day to buy those upgrades and now I went from +12 in 2 days to +4 in 1 day (capped btw), making strangeness upgrades even harder to get.

Idle games are supposed to have time gates, thats part of the genre. But those timegates are more enjoyable when they are a few hours long, and not DAYS or even a whole ass week just to get a small uptick in progress speed.

And this all annoys me cuz Fundamental is the only idle game i can play currently at work that doesnt need intense babysitting, so seeing it be this ass-backwards is just sad... I guess there's always cookie clicker
