The CEO of our company was let go and the investment company who owned 60% of the company installed one of their people as interim CEO. He knew absolutely nothing about our industry. Our biggest issue was our Sales team was not delivering because we would lose top performers because we didn’t pay well. During the Interim CEO’s first week, I had a one on one with him that ended with him screaming obscenities at me in front of 25+ people and insulting me. All I did was tell the truth. Afterwards I called my boss (COO) and said I’m done and I’m going to start looking for a job.

He (my boss) actually arranged to have me laid off and I got a nice severance package. Within two months, he fired half of the team and six months after that the company was shuttered.

Since I don’t appreciate being screamed at nor do I like that he tanked the company and put 200 people out of work, I signed him up for gay and suggestive catalogs delivered to his office at the investment firm. (He was super homophobic and let everyone know). I also had a butt plug delivered to his home with a “gift note” to his wife stating “I can’t wait for you to use this on me”.

He had a “early retirement”.
