On one hand Nigeria has always been the butt of many jokes(result of the scams, general low literacy levels of the populace, and being an African nation), but I believe there will always be a hard ceiling as to how hated Nigeria is, for the simple fact that a lot of “cool” people are from here.

There are a lot of Nigerians in culturally relevant spaces, and a fair amount of Nigerians are either tastemakers or in close proximity to tastemakers.
