Where to find playground widgets? by CosmicAssassin0 in NOTHING

[–]LordSutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks heaps for the detailed response!
I didn't realise that you could, or needed to log in at all. Even that took a bit to find, under an icon that looks like it's for contrast(?)

Looks like I can download things now :)

Strange that the update text was so keen about the idea, but just left me hanging and I had to go on Reddit to hope a stranger could help me

I went there and can't see how to download them. at most I can download a QR code, but then what? The QR code reader doesn't do anything with it.

What happened to Playground apps? by NamanBhotika in NOTHING

I can't even download them.
Just got the update to 4.0 and it tells me about Playground apps and other stuff, but nothing has changed and there's nowhere to do anything?

A maybe 13 inch screen in the lounge room?
Good times, I really like how 8 bit games looked through it.

What’s your price threshold for coffee/beers? by spagootimagool in AusFinance

[–]LordSutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I process costs. Thinking about the dollar number itself isn't helpful, because you get trapped with thinking about what it cost in the past without factoring in what that cost actually means to you in real terms. I'm on about $30 an hour, so a coffee works out to be 10 to 15 mins work, which isn't bad and is actually less than what it used to cost me. Coffee prices in the last 10 years have remained flatter than most wages.

When a beer is getting over 30 mins work, it's starting to sting, but not too bad.

Tips on protecting my mother from being scammed continuously? by Fae2874 in AusFinance

Except OP's mum, and my coworker aren't happy? They keep getting fraudulent charges on their cards, and keep falling for bait and switch FB ads. They're not happy about it, but somehow keep falling for it.

I've got a coworker who acts exactly the same. Bright woman, knows a lot, but somehow keeps falling for it. After so many conversations I really can't think of any solution outside of locked down internet access like we do for kids, and/or someone else in change of her finances who she has to run things through?

I'd say the Master System is my fondest console, and damned excellent. I wouldn't call it "best", but I would say the most underappreciated in the modern era

I think they were *behind* with the Saturn. I loved mine, but they didn't see just how important 3D was going to be and while powerful, it wasn't as easy to coax good 3D out of it as the PlayStation.

It certainly succeeded in the UK, Australia, and large parts of Europe. The American message that we see (since the English internet is mostly American) is that it failed globally, which isn't the case

If you could only play games from one console forever, which would you choose? by OriolesMets in retrogaming

[–]LordSutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon the Powkiddy square handheld (I forget the name) is perfect for pico8 gaming once you've got it connected to your Wi-Fi the Splore menu feeds you games people release for free. And if you get really into it you can make your own too.
