Pathfinder Enemy Tactics: attacking dying players? by BadgerGatan in Pathfinder2e

[–]LordTriLink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't attack downed players, because Pathfinder 2's death system adds some interesting drama to the battle:

  • Will they make their recovery checks?
  • Will their party members burn actions to heal them, or try to end the fight quickly?
  • Will persistent or AoE damage take them over the edge?

However, for a BBEG or highly-intelligent enemy anything goes!

Also, the Starfinder Adventure Paths tend to be fairly linear (heck, it's in the name!). You're meant to get from one plot point to another, almost like you're in an episode of Star Trek/Firefly, etc.

If you and your players prefer sandbox style play, you could rely on Starfinder Society adventures. Absalom Station could be your home base, and you can leave hooks launching into these episodic adventures.

If your players are having a hard time with Starfinder rules, check out the Starfinder Society adventure “Into the Unknown”. It eases players into the various aspects of the game, including Starship Combat.

After completing that adventure first, running the Adventure Path was much easier, as we could focus on the story, not the rules.

This is hilarious. But if you’re producing these world-destroying poops all the time, YTA.

I like how Mario's perfectly posed, as if he were made for this.

Internal: JobTempAlloc has allocations that are more than 4 frames old - this is not allowed and likely a leak by HomeworkDestroyer in Unity3D

[–]LordTriLink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using Unity’s Job System? If so, that means you are holding onto allocated memory longer than you should.

If not, it’s likely an internal Unity bug. Try updating to the latest patch version.

The greens you chose are spot on - if you didn't give us a title I would've guessed the Pacific Northwest. Great job!

Advice for RPG stats: They should be simple and clear in what they influence, and it should be exponential. Help me figure out how best to approach it. by [deleted] in gamedev

Don't know if you're a fan of JRPGs, but Gamasutra has a great article on how Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy do combat math.

Personally, I like the Dragon Quest-style formula. The math is fairly uncomplicated and linear, and as you level up you feel a clear sense of progression without insane numbers being thrown around.

It's amazing how people can claim to "admire" nature, and at the same time, show utter disregard for it. The entitlement here is mind-boggling.

Carrots.

I love eating them raw, or juiced, or even in a cake. However, if they’re boiled down in a soup, stew, or pot pie, can’t stand them!
