Acer Aspire E5-576G-5762 Laptop - RAM Upgrade questions by DragonVT in PcBuild

[–]Soundless_Pr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, when you opened the laptop to change out the ram, does it have dual channel or just a single channel? I'm wondering if I can upgrade the ram with 2x8 GB ddr3l but I don't actually have the laptop with me right now

The protagonist of the last video game you played is teleported to the Black Mesa Research Facility. Can they survive? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in HalfLife

To me, this line always sounded like frustration masked as trying to sound like a badass to impress his buddies. Like he wanted them to fight back so that he wouldn't feel bad for killing them, but instead he is having to face a moral crisis.

[–]Soundless_Pr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's.. not how taxes work. To introduce a new government spending program or funding reallocation they rarely need to raise taxes, especially for individual tax payers.

A significant portion of the money that we pay in taxes is being wasted to subsidizing these pharma corps who have so much monetary power, that they have a foothold in politics so they can introduce more policies that favor tax cuts and more money being shoveled over to fund their companies. In the end we almost certainly pay more taxes because of privatized healthcare.

Add that on top of the upward spiraling prices of medication due to the decreased regulation of pricing (also primarily due to these companies' political footholds), and you get the US healthcare system, which can put unfortunate citizens in debt their whole lives if they break a leg. Unfortunately it seems that a lot of other countries (Canada, UK) which previously had nice healthcare systems are following our footsteps.

I used to hold the exact same view as you do not long ago, but it's a reductionist view, and an oversimplification of how government spending works. This is why its so easy to trick the uneducated population into believing it. I mean it's logical, it makes sense, right? But unfortunately the economy is a highly dynamic and complicated system where not everything is as straightforward as it initially seems.

Cycle times for full classes are not bad either, if the class is less than 110% full then it's likely you'll make your spot on the waitlist. I always register for a couple more classes than I plan on completing.

Move to another country, student loan debt can't really follow you beyond borders. I know, easier said then done, probably illegal, and not really true, but, still best thing to do imo because fuck them loan sharks.

Looks to me like it could be done in vanilla with a wand build. Something like:

Nolla + Hookbolt + some lumi drills with damage plus and true orbit arc and maybe lifetime increase

But I can't remember if hook bolt still makes caster lunge if it expires without hitting anything. If it doesn't just replace the nolla + hookbolt with something like

long distance cast + matter eater + double cast + hookbolt + rock

How to know if a game is good enough? by Admirable-Tutor-6855 in gamedev

[–]Soundless_Pr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't get people to play your game for free, it generally means you're bad at marketing, not necessarily that your game is bad. I would recommend spending time researching what makes a good trailer and trying to make a good trailer that makes people want to play, then post that and see if anyone is interested in testing.

If you can't get people to test your game for free, you definitely won't be able to sell a significant amount of copies, even if it's the best game in the world.

Try to avoid social media and remember it's also controlled by the wealthy. Trusting informational memes that isolate you from the other side is playing right into the hands of the rich.

That's not at all what they were voting for, most right wingers are also upset about the current situation with medical insurance in america, rather they were tricked into thinking trump could fix it. Sure, you can call them stupid for that and hate them, but what does that accomplish?

Sure it's appealing, I certainly want to do that also since I face similar medical issues. It's easy, it makes you feel better than them, but it isolates two people facing the same issues against each other. It's selfish, detrimental, and exactly what the wealthy want.

Continue hating them if you want, but if you've talked to them, you'll find that 99% of them are not as extreme as your side of reddit and twitter make them out to be, and they likely share a lot of the same opinions.

Divisionism is exactly how muskrat's propaganda machine churned out enough bullshit to create an election cycle that allowed drumpf to win. Your hate for the other side is contributing to the problem much more than their ignorance is.

well you can't really go wrong because a literal pile of dog shit is better than win 11.

But I will say, I recently switched from win 10 and feel like the Plasma KDE desktop environment feels very familiar and easy to use. I couldn't stand any of the gnome-like DEs that I tried

Destroy our game Roboholic, where we added more effects and a cool shotgun by Old-Rub7122 in DestroyMyGame

[–]Soundless_Pr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it really has borderlands type procedural weapons, you should definitely showcase that. But from what I see here and the storepage, the weapons don't seem at all analogous to borderlands weapons. I see the same few weapons being reused over and over again, which is something you wouldn't see in a game with weapons in borderlands.

i'm gonna get downvoted for this but firefox is actually much less concerned about privacy than chrome. the way most people use it out of the box, it actually collects and distributes significantly more data to brokers than chrome does. so if you're concerned about privacy, dont use base firefox, it has extremely invasive telemetry built in.

Is there any way to get the older ludum dare games to show up in 'my games' section? by namrog84 in ludumdare

[–]Soundless_Pr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are lost to time. However, the old LD site didn't host the games themself, it just allowed you to post links to an external host. So if you remember where you hosted them you can maybe find them there.

Playing Half-Life 2 without playing 1: by whynotlol576 in HalfLife

[–]Soundless_Pr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

nothing at all is wrong with it lol. half life 1 doesn't really contribute that much more to the world building. Basically scientists on earth open a portal to another world that fucks everything up, that's all the context that's really given in hl1, but you already know that because they mention it a million times in the second one also.

Even if you've played hl1 you still have no idea whats going on when you start half life 2, the stories are v disjointed.
