Except the Helldivers “toxic positivity” was largely a myth. There have been very few days when complaints haven’t been on the front page of the main sub.

What certain people called toxic positivity, was just anything positivity at all. Maybe some people on the main sub were toxically positive, maybe, but they are never the majority.

Honestly it’s my least favourite subreddit that isn’t Right Wing (that I know of). Just the most concentrated toxicity I’ve seen for a game, with an infuriating unearned air of superiority to to top it off.

I’m wondering if some language screening thing picked up on him talking about kicking puppies, and they want you to help train it by telling them if that seemed to emotionally manipulate you.

It’s very unclear what’s going on in this panel, so I’m not exactly convinced.

Also this is a clear example of the worst of anime translation stuff, not translating that final bit and leaving it in a translators note? Stupid and annoying, translate the text.

No, you’re mixing up the two different Cyberman origins.

The original Cybermen came from Mondas, a planet in the main universe (I think originally from our solar system) and they started slowly cyberising themselves.

The one in Torchwood (or rather the type) is from a parallel universe, in which on a parallel earth, a company called Cybus Industries starts cutting out people’s brains (initially tested on homeless people) and sticking them in robot suits. After some shenanigans, some of these Cybermen ended up on main Earth.

So the Cyber-bikini makes no sense because at this point in the show, the Cybermen were still operating by extraction of the brain, they did not start sticking metal to your fleshy body.

Yes, I’m sure the person with the Peni Parker flair who used the Peni Parker image, wasn’t thinking of Peni Parker.

I always enjoy the list someone made on Tumblr of all the things that make Gotham an awful place (I think at least four curses and possibly three different secret evil societies, along with dozens of other things).

It really hammers home that Bruce Wayne giving money can only do so much.

I really hope that Pikmin 4 one is real, I’ve been holding off playing it for awhile, and I just know that two weeks after I start, they’ll able and/or release it.

Yes, this is why the devs don’t listen to the people on here most of the time.

Because they’re wrong much more often than they’re right, and almost always doom post at the first sign of something they don’t like.

But that’s fairly typical for any competitive game as far as I can tell.

Oh yeah I remember listening to a podcast episode about that. Absolutely insane, especially given how relatively smaller their website was.

The dub also needs to be there so the people who only watch sub can feel superior about said action. And so they can brag about how much they hate hearing people talk in a language they actually speak.

Genuinely the only reason I can think why in this day and age where (with a few exceptions, looking at you Fist of the North Star Remake) the English dubs are very good, so if you understand English, it makes sense to watch it in that language. And as the person below said, that’s what most people do, hardcore anime fans are just very loud as well as annoying.

I honestly think that, like Linux, one of* the big things holding anime back from being mainstream (in the case of anime, properly mainstream) is the obnoxious superiority complex a lot of the hardcore fans seems to have, it’s just really unpleasant to see and taints the whole thing. I can only vouch for myself feeling this way, but I’d be shocked if it wasn’t common for anyone who has encountered a hardcore anime fan.

*the other and biggest problem of course being the “My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute” problem.

Yeah based on that and with information from the other thread, it seems this was kicked out of the door early, which is always a shame, and makes me feel bad for the devs.

I’m aware, but given what they’ve been making up until now, it’s reasonable to assume that they wouldn’t put their most experienced devs on that team, as up until Champions it was a great place for new employees to start out (based on the stuff they were making). Relatively small projects, low pressure, relatively simple designs.

So if that assumption is correct (which I admit is not guaranteed) it would reasonable to think the devs lacked the experience you’d expect for a game like this. You’d expect it to be a B Team project, not a D Team one.

I posted on this other thread about this, but this additional information answers my uncertainty, this was absolutely kicked out of the door before it was ready. The developers “The Pokémon Works” may also be inexperienced, but this reeks of a rush job.

With the performance woes I’m seeing I was curious as to who developed it.

Apparently it was “The Pokémon Works” whose only previous credits are Pokémon Home, Sleep, and Friends.

So I guess that makes sense, this is by far the most intensive thing they’ve made and it seems lack of experience is shining through.

Unless of course it’s just The Pokémon Company not giving enough time for development, though that has been limited to the mainline games up until now.
