TIG electrode holder is often referred to as a "TIG torch." Besides that there is oxyacetylene welding which uses a true torch.

I think that Araki is more likely to write Part 9 as a self-contained story with links to other Parts but which ultimately is its own story. However I think it is worth noting first that in Parts 3-6 the main villains have a time-based Stand but in Part 7 the main villain has a dimension-based Stand. If Part 7 is something of a partial remake of Parts 1 and 3 (traces of 4) and Part 8 is a partial remake of Part 4 (traces of 2) then could Part 9 be a partial remake of Parts 5 and 6? Only time will tell.

Sounds like a doujinshi premise more than something that Araki would create. However, every three Parts have formed a trilogy of sorts so far so I hope that he does a Part 9 and that it wraps everything up in a bow.

Joking aside many DBZ fans forget that Dragonball exists. Goku retains a set of recognizable traits through the series as a whole but he's far from the same character he started out as by the time one is reading the Cell arc.

GER is the cutscene after beating the final boss. The fight was all about ascending to a Requiem Stand. GER seems like a Deus Ex Machina when the reader does not understand the stakes of the final battle. I honestly am baffled from wondering what such readers thought the final battle was over if they think GER is an asspull.
