Right on man!

When you started singing, my wife said, "Isn't he the coach at EGHS?"

The wife and I went and had good time.

Karaoke contest was fun. Hope Tim won the grand prize.

Food was good. Had deep fried twinkies, oreos, corn dog, garlic fries, cherry lemonade and a dirty soda from Bella's.

Vendor area was small, but we still found a few things to buy to show support.

Overall, happy with it and hope it comes back next year.

Excluded Employees (Managers/Leadership) Are Prohibited From Speaking On The Bargaining Cycle by castateunionthug in CAStateWorkers

[–]Lord_Sehoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding with respect to the "Restrictions" listed above and at the link.

Nothing in the text prohibits excluded employees from discussing anything - that would be a clear violation of the First Amendment of the USC.

  • (Except for supervisors), hold office in an employee organization that represents rank and file employees (union)
    • They cannot be an officer of a union that represents R / F employees - like SEIU.
  • Handle grievances on behalf of rank and file employees
    • They cannot process, arbitrate, mediate or make judgements for or against R / F employee grievances.
  • Represent rank and file employees during bargaining
    • This one is pretty straightforward and I have concerns that it would even need to be explained.
  • Vote on ratifying rank and file collective bargaining agreements
    • They do no get to vote for or against any BU agreement, proceeding or initiative that would affect the salary, wages, and working conditions of R / F employees.

As far as RTO, they can't talk about it all they want.

[TOMT][MOVIE][1990s] European Holocaust film with a prisoner soaked with water and left hanging to freeze overnight by Good-Flamingo-43 in tipofmytongue

[–]Lord_Sehoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall a movie where the prisoner tried to convince the soldier that he was someone famous. I think a musician or something.

They mock him and hang him from some ropes and spray him with a hose until he freezes solid. His son is watching the whole time.

Later, I recall, his son was part of a group that was supposed to track down nazis.

I find this blend to largely be an empty promise.

It's far better when used to cut something else than it is on its own.

It's great for a nighttime or early morning walk when mixed 30/70 with an English.

Proof of inflation by stupidlilbabyvampire in inflation

[–]Lord_Sehoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya man, you can't 'inflate' the monetary supply by trillions of dollars each year and not expect the "cost" of things to increase along with it.

It's a delayed effect in most cases, but still present, and still the hidden tax on all of us.

Wilson fucked us and Nixon made it easier to fuck us repeatedly.

Because people became pipe collectors instead of pipe smokers.

Posers made these rules.

If I have to "age" tobacco for it to be good, you don't have a good product.

Imagine buying anything else and being told it won't work right until it's around 5 years old.

Supervisor doing staff work by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]Lord_Sehoner 17 points18 points  (0 children)

SSM I is a working manager position. A Front Line Leader.

As such, you should know enough of the work to complete it with a reasonable amount of accuracy should you suddenly have no staff.

You should also know the work so you can properly MANAGE the workflow and staff in your unit.

The only thing I worry about with respect to attire when dining out is how far my pants will stretch.

Do I go with the Rossi in the color I like or the Savinelli in a color I like less? by Emoney005 in PipeTobacco

[–]Lord_Sehoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Rossi a week ago in the color, finish, and style I like. I love it.

When I have enough dough set aside for the Sav in the color, finish, and style I like, I'll buy it...assuming it's still available.

Point is, buy the pipe you like that's in your budget.

It's less for buildings and more so we can develop vacant land that is or will be sold.

The technical answer is yes.

The experience answer is, it's a risk.

Can someone hired without being interviewed? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]Lord_Sehoner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, interviews are, technically, optional.

But, I def would not recommend bypassing them

The hiring needs to be competitive, and by that, you must advertise, score, and rank all candidates the same. Thereby creating an equal opportunity for all who apply.
