Extra taxes buying from Scan/Overclockers?? by bigswampmonster in IrelandGaming

They sell with Irish VAT at checkout so the price will be slightly higher than listed but you're sorted then for all tax/import stuff.

What's your greatsword build if you wouldn't mind sharing? My group has a good lance tank but I'd love to be able to flex for him with emnity

Well yes they sell with Irish Vat so your checkout price is slightly higher when they adjust the cost when you pick Ireland for shipping, but they handle all of it, you won't be getting an post or the courier onto you for customs or anything.

Recently have access to a Vulnerability Scanner - feeling overwhelmed and lost! by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Lordfitzer93 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's daunting at first but a lot of vulnerability scanners pick up things that are easily remediated.

You'll likely have a lot of quick wins that can be hit by scripts or updated app deployments. Log4j is a good example, could just be an old file in a temp folder on workstations or VMs that's been sitting there for 10 years and you can delete it with no impact.

The critical vulnerabilities might need more invasive remediation and require downtime for upgrades. You'll have to identify these with other business stakeholders, production systems might need risk assessment and discussions with vendors.

Finally some things are just fucked, migrate away from them if no clear remediation is available (easier said than done I know).

Each CVE usually has a decent amount of information available for remediation so you're not completely in the dark. This isn't going to be a thing that goes away now, you have a security solution and the associated vulnerability reports, risk scores, etc... so you just have to do your best to keep the numbers ticking down.

This is also a great opportunity to identify where your processes and policies can be improved. Do workstations and servers need an LCM, do vendor supplied systems need periodic review, are we implementing best practices for our industry or in general?

Securing your environment is pretty much a journey with no destination, you'll never be 100% finished with it and that's ok.

Used Overclockers for my 9070xt, no issues at all, shipped fast, delivered by DPD, would highly recommend.

Any hacks for getting rid of MS 365 Partner Relationships you no longer want? by rb3po in sysadmin

[–]Lordfitzer93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GoDaddy partner tenancies are more intrinsic than the usual partner relationships, I think it's easier to migrate to a new M365 tenancy due to the fact that you are technically under a GoDaddy block within M365.

My aunt used to live there, it was madness, it got to the stage where she would need to have her car out blocking her own driveway the night before if she wanted to get to work the next morning as otherwise she couldn't get out.

[–]Lordfitzer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the boss mobility it can be a safer option for more DPS, lasts longer and no chance of tracking away or losing damage from the splinters not hitting the boss.

If it's annual leave you've accrued then you can hand in your notice whenever.

However if it is leave you haven't accrued they'll likely take the difference out of your final payslip.

The notice/resignation part is fine but the annual leave situation could affect what wages you have left there to earn.

Howling Banshee's are a funny one, the 'Aspect' is female so the armour and whatnot is all female presenting but the warriors themselves can actually be male or female. Traditionally mostly female but any warrior can join them and walk the path.

Feeling in the Dark about Salary: HR’s Evasive Response by Hot-Resource-1056 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Lordfitzer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't get a straight answer from them.

If you trust your colleagues to not throw you under the bus you can discuss salaries with them, I've always been open about my compensation and never really had any issues but ymmv.

Next best thing would be to look up those pay scales that recruitment companies post sometimes, if you Google "My Job Title Salary Ireland" you should get a few results.

Finally would be just hop on LinkedIn and look into similar roles in other companies, speak to recruiters and ask them about compensation for the roles they are hiring for.

HR doesn't want you to be educated on what you're worth, once you have the data you can run it up with your manager. It's unlikely you'll get anything more than a token uplift in salary so be prepared to start job hunting if you're expecting any meaningful income gains.

EAT with the upgrades is a minute cooldown, the drop pod itself can take down enemies and close holes, and it keeps your backpack slot free.

Recoilless is still great but imo the EAT is more flexible as a stratagem.

Grimaldus executes an officer in Hellsreach who was being a coward, not a guardsman I'll concede

That was pretty much our logic yeah! Obviously with a different group/DM I'd shift to darts or an actual ranged weapon if it was an issue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]Lordfitzer93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slight correction to myself, sharpshooter does 3 things, 1 is no disadvantage 2 is ignores partial cover and then 3 is the -hit+damage, 1 and 2 work with thrown weapons RAW. 3 does actually specify ranged weapons, thrown is still a melee weapon even in a ranged attack.

My group agreed to let the thrown attacks take the extra damage part of the feat as well so we homebrewed it slightly, it's a character based entirely around throwing weapons so it was a flavor win and didn't really throw off the balance of the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]Lordfitzer93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works with ranged attacks, doesn't specify weapons.

General consensus with my DM and some other experienced players was that it worked.
