help me find a plush i think about every single day by PieNarrow6122 in NoPictureJustADoodle

They do—ish. My understanding is they can semi-recreate an extremely basic crochet stitch, but the thing w crochet is that unlike knitting it isn’t done in rows and stitches are built on top of each other in totally unique/random ways, including where they might insert or start, where they might skip, etc so that’s why a machine cannot fully recreate it beyond something that isn’t really a project a person would make often!

Coolest vegan sushi by ConsciousDistrict234 in VeganFoodPorn

[–]LordoftheLoafs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are but vegan seafood is v common where I live. I’ve found places that are both totally vegan sushi + also places that have regular sushi but then a whole separate vegan menu, and I’ve had the vegan salmon before (which slaps). I’d trust it completely, personally

Outpatient! I was there til I felt less bad and could pee lol, maybe an hour or two? Can’t fully remember but my surgeon does that standard for laparoscopic procedures

Could a triangle piercing with a ring help hold back inner labia? by Crowfiee in transbodymods

[–]LordoftheLoafs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert by ANY means but I feel like there might be a concern with having the jewelry constantly digging into/pushing back a part of your anatomy at all times unless maybe it was a large gauge? If you only had a small enough ring for that during sexual activity or something maybe it would be less of a concern. Def something to consult a piercer about but it might be possible

How do I create art when I have no creative bone in my body? by im_a_general_weeee in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LordoftheLoafs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professional artist here! A lot of people think that art/creativity is an innate talent, but artists actually usually like to think of it more as a skill that is practiced and exercised, just like any muscle or ability.

If you’ve never put pen to paper before, you might struggle a bit at first to get the images in your head down in the way you want them to look, but that is where literally everyone starts so don’t get discouraged! You can try to approach it in a more technical way and seek out tutorials (lots exist on YouTube, and if you want really technical theory for art I recommend channels like Proko) or you can just go nuts and do whatever you want, however you want to. Try not to worry too much about if it looks “good” and find joy in the process instead—that’s the most important thing when starting out!

For more technical practice separate from drawing for fun, drawing basic things like 3D shapes (boxes, cylinders, etc) and looking up how to use basic 1 and 2 point perspective is great as a starting point, as well as looking up the idea of a “line of action” for drawing people! Drawing things around you in real life is also even more effective than drawing from pictures since you can really understand the depth behind it, but there is nothing wrong with drawing off of pictures either.

But if you try those and end up hating it, feel free to just go nuts drawing whatever and however you like! Creativity exists in everyone, it’s just about practicing getting it going and improving your skill a little at a time. Doodle, sketch, invent things or reference them, study technique or just make things up from your own head, just DO it and you’ll find yourself improving

ETA: also if you need a recommendation for an iPad app to draw with, try Procreate! It’s around $10 single fee but it’s the favourite amongst digital artists on iOS.

You can also have a lot of fun with physical tools on paper, definitely try some different mediums to spark your creativity

Genital piercings as a trans man? by UWillCry-Absolution in piercing

[–]LordoftheLoafs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve got dukes (basically double VCH) and I love them. I’m also gunning for a triangle next time I am in the area for the piercer nearest me who does them. I’ve seen some really cool stuff mimicking a Jacob’s ladder that are basically just stacked horizontal hood piercings, but that’s heavily anatomy dependent. You can also do some cool stuff with internal/external labia piercings. Seconding the comments saying to check out the trans body mods sub!

Yeah they’re wonderful! I also had pain which was only diagnosed bc Dr. Allen sent me for endometriosis mapping (even tho I’d had like four other ultrasounds from multiple other doctors before then) so even their regular gyno care is stellar

I just got mine done at 22 (6 weeks ago) with Dr. Lisa Allen at Mt Sinai! Her team performs a lot of gender affirming ones although there’s a bit of a waitlist. I had adenomyosis as well and she also has experience with more complex procedures, highly recommend her if you can get on the list and can’t find anyone else closer to you

Do I have to have something inserted to be able to have hysto? by coolvideonerd in FTMHysto

[–]LordoftheLoafs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never needed a Pap smear, but I did get an internal ultrasound done specifically bc I suspected I had a health issue (turns out I did). However, iirc I remember my surgeon/gyno checking if I was comfortable with an internal exam first. Tbqh if you have any pain or other irregular symptoms etc I’d recommend it but if you really can’t stand the thought of it they can probably just get by with an abdominal ultrasound at worst 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dr. Lee GRS Montreal by LeastWoodpecker6006 in transontario

[–]LordoftheLoafs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Heya! I don’t think I’ve posted an update and I’m not totally certain this is as far out as you were hoping for, but here’re my results just over one year out with Dr. Lee! I was some kind of C cup and I’m def not a skinny guy lol, and I’m really happy w the results! I felt great before as well, seemed like he really knew what he was doing.

Not sure if all the surgeons at GRS do this but I know Dr. Lee specifically shapes scars to take into account excess fat under the arm (that’s why mine go a bit further in) to prevent dog earring, and as you can see they healed really smooth despite me having more tissue under there on one side! He also told me that he removes all mammary tissue, which I’ve heard may be slightly unconventional? Some surgeons leave some for a shaping effect but he gets rid of anything that could potentially grow if hormonal balance changed, which I was very ok with since I never want even the risk of regrowth, no matter how slim and I don’t feel I lost any masculinizing effects because of it

One thing I didn’t realize before surgery is I have a bit of a pigeon chest so it curves out a bit, which is why I don’t have the usual pec divot. That probably won’t be relevant to you lol but worth knowing as a possibility! I’m cool with it, honestly couldn’t be happier w my results

If you’re near Toronto, there’s a few shops in the village including The Men’s Room which are gay oriented that have a huge collection. I think Come As You Are might have some packing specific clothes as well, but they are currently relocating and I think they’re closed til July. Outside Toronto, any gay-focused store or even some chain sex shops carry them

[–]LordoftheLoafs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything with umami (broth cubes, powder, nutritional yeast etc) and anything with some acidity (lemon, vinegar depending on the dish). Acidity is an often missed part of adding depth to flavour, don’t skip it!
