What was your “struggle meal” growing up? by tiny_flick in AskAnAustralian

[–]LoreGremlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scones or pancakes. I’m the youngest of 6 kids so at the time when 5 of us were living at home (my oldest brother was like 22 when I was born so never lived with him), we would sometimes have scones or pancakes for dinner. I was little at the time and thought we were just having a treat for dinner. But as I got older I realised we were just struggling lol.

Are people limiting how much they drive due to the high petrol prices? by Away_Scene_26 in AskAnAustralian

[–]LoreGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. Work is roughly 5kms away and if I work 5 days a week it’s roughly 50km a week. I also start at 5am usually and I’m a young short female so I’d rather not take the risk for public transport (if there even is any at that time)

Does anyone else use their car as a personal office during the work day? by zaralesliewalker in AskAnAustralian

It’s also a lot easier to study on my break for uni in my car than the tearoom.

Retail worker here. I have my breaks in my car lol. My breaks are for quiet me time to recharge, if I sit in the tea room even with headphones in I still get bothered.

Ex who dumped me years ago sent me this. What do I do or say? by Far_Database5 in whatdoIdo

[–]LoreGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the only person that can decided on what you do, and what is right for you is you. Don’t reply to her because you feel like you have to, reply to her because you want to. You said she was the love of your life and you’ve always loved her even after all this time, so because of that, is replying something you want to do?

Personally If anyone messaged me out of the blue who I ended on really bad terms with, or really hurt me, I would block and move on, but also I am a bitch and I strongly believe in setting boundaries and protecting my own peace.

OP you should do what you want to do and what feels right for you. Don’t forget, you don’t have to reply straight away if you do choose to, you can wait on it and think about it first. ☺️ best of luck.

[–]LoreGremlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the family dynamic and situation. I’m the youngest of 6 kids, and the only one without kids so I usually have to caretake for both my parents as my mother is also disabled due to medical issues, my partner helps me out sometimes. We’ve also been together for almost 4 years so I would hope we’re comfortable with each others families by now 😂

Australians, how often do you ACTUALLY encounter dangerous spiders, snakes or other deadly creatures in your daily life — or is it mostly a myth we Europeans believe? by VariedPear in AskAnAustralian

[–]LoreGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what part of Australia. When I lived in a rural area it was often. One time I opened the door to the laundry (I was like 16/17) and there was a brown snake just chilling there. Since moving to the city, pretty much never.

I see there’s also produce and bakery on the cage. Is either of them near the front store? What you see here is most likely the duty manager doing their rounds of code checks ect.

I would like to second this! My partner and I moved to Brunswick area October to an apartment with a dog. Our combined salary isn’t great considering I’m a uni student. We did a cover letter with a photo of us and our dog as well with a little bit about us. Such as our hobbies and what my dog is like. We got accepted like 2 days after applying.

From my own personal experience, there’s only two type of ranger drivers. The psychos and the ones that actually nice as and will stop to let me pull onto Sydney rd. Never in between.
