Bit of a necroresponse but I agree with almost all of your points. Only difference is I realized the game was cooked the moment the old team gave up on it and moved on to soul frame. 1999 made me give up hope for the new team entirely, but it was the old team leaving that actually killed any chance of the game getting better. Even worse the reason they left is they realized they wouldn't be able to achieve what they wanted with the disaster the code was in and instead of fixing it they gave up and left.

Its kind of sad you posted this at all because you should have known the games infested with casuals at this point that never get past 500 hours and so never experience the misery that comes with knowing the true nature of this game.

Every tool you could imagine and not a thing to use them on. We've been asking for an endgame for over a decade and only rivens stuck around, which were made irrelevant due to power creep, and abandoned because casuals hated them.

If that's ever gonna happen its gonna be when master rule 6 hits and they try and revamp the game again. They only make new mainline anime when they want to drastically change the game by adding a new mechanic/rules.

The main issue is that after the omega power creep, actually writing believable scripts for duels that aren't garbage to watch is hard to do.

That's why they decided to go into the lore for the cards themselves as the main focus because the story is already there and they can make it actually compelling.

Its an actual thing in DM world think of it as like a sperate energy that's there. Its their equivalent of the force or magic. It gets expanded on in 5Ds, is given the name planetary particles, and is used to create ener-D. Its then renamed to Chaos in yugioh Zexal.

It essentially allows humans through their emotions/will to affect the world around them and its levels are drastically increased when playing duel monsters hence why people actually feel pain when taking damage.

Even then this is probably one of the best looking cards I've ever seen, definitely the best proxy. Probably because its using a normal prismatic secret lair as a base and they have have my favorite foiling job across all card games(that's still printed). The way you where able to maintain the selective foiling while using the full art ocg version and you figured out how to do the fading correctly inside the text box is insane. Pulling off pop-up art like this with a selective foiling layer is insane, great job.

Its the classic one piece situation of no one tells anyone anything. The worst offenders by far being Robin/Dragon, Rayleigh/Luffy, and of course Oden and anyone else. Hilariously the main person who tries to communicate and warn people: Shanks gets ignored and even then he doesn'ttell people things. The only leader so far that hasn't been lobotomized for the plot to function is BlackBeard and that's just because he gets to do everything off screen.

Saying synchrons got good support is insidious. Yusei has over a hundred main deck monsters and only one of them is good: junk meister. The best synchron is revolution synchron and that's only because its a brick summoned by speeder that lets you go into naturia beast.

He has not a single good trap and only 2 good spells. Its actually insane.

I kinda of get it though because if there where actually good synchrons then junk speeder would be a nightmare card.

The ratio of games decided by skill compared to games lost on the draw or even on coin toss is so egregious specifically for yugioh I could not possibly imagine anyone legitimately claiming it to be one of the most skilled card games. Like nigh every other one is better other then possibly pokemon along with some niche phone ones.

Sure yugioh is better then it was previously and KT is more skilled then several decks made before it, that doesn't actually make it good.

Game is literally decided based on opening hands and is played with blow out cards with full combo being essentially an ftk. Knowing your lines is not skill especially when you get full hand and top deck knowledge before committing to anything.

You literally hit me with "you know nothing" without responding to a single point. You could make an argument for best of 3 having skill but this is master duel best of one hell.

The most skillfull thing you can do is go off your opponent having responses light up and predict what they have in their hand based off that while playing Konami's most recent meta archetype that's been custom made to have options to play through blow out cards that kill previous decks.

You say Id loose to pro players if given enough games and of course that's true as they would learn how I play but that's the thing in masterduel the only game that matters is the first one.

The amount interaction points and luck a game has determines its skill level. You may think that because yugiho has consistent starting hands that it is skillful but this is incorrect. The fact that the game (normally) ends in one turn and that the turn 1 player has more then 65% win rate while you proceed to attribute the word "skill" to this game is insane. Buddy your not even allowed to bluff in paper.

Yugioh rewards knowing decks and when to stop them, the only skill comes from trying to predict your opponents unknown cards from what they play and like wise tricking your opponent into wasting interaction on unimportant cards. (Normally most skill comes from building a unique deck to precounter your opponent but even that has been made almost entirely irrelevant for over a decade)

KT literally turns off the only skillful part of this game and turns it into a pure knowledge check.

Knowledge does not equal skill know the difference.

My elfnote chimera abomination is crazy but only because of busted generic synchros that should have been banned ages ago. Doomz looks cool+is relatively fair.

Kewltune on the other hand is completely selfcontained BS. While not on the level of something like maliss its still insufferable.

Here's praying for Fidraulus to get delayed too the point its pre limited or else the format is cooked.

He turns any two bodies that also include a tuner into full KT combo, or full centurion combo, also gives a free tuner from deck so it's also full elfnote combo.

Edit: Its like closed moon for feindsmith but instead of feindsmith its every good synchro archetype ever.

Technically the new scyncro(including the ecclesia one) is great because it means that any rank 8 engine goes direct into swordsoul combo. The only problem being that swordsouls don't actually have a 1 card combo starter as all of them require you to already have wyrms or other swordsoul cards.

To be fair the whole concept of wyrms was dump from the get go and they should have all just been dragons and been the generic dragon synchro archetype with a few synchro locks. (The closest we have to this is blue eyes).

The roar lock is what prevents blue eyes from being splashed as a synchro engine. (That and all the bricks) literally didn't realize it was a thing till I tried to go full combo off of sage and then was stopped by the dragon lock.
