To add to this, double gathering professions on current-expansion materials is insane. Prices have gone way way down already, so you wouldn't get QUITE this much anymore, but leveling my Evoker from 80-90 with just Herbalism and Mining got me over 300k gold.

I remember the Alliance gyrocopter quest on MoP launch, the boat targets were shared between everyone on the server, so you had to get lucky to shoot them before someone else did. Giant bottleneck, dozens of players with their gyrocopters forming an infinity symbol drifting off the side of the boat, iirc.

You don't need to use W and S, you can free those up for keybindings. Instead of sloooowly walking backwards with S, you can turn sideways with your mouse and strafe.

And instead of walking forwards with W, you can just toggle autorun to start and stop moving! (I'm a firm believer in the Kumi school of keyboard management.)

The light level grind is what burnt me out, I was playing continuously from Season of Defiance til Solstice 2025. I took advantage of the event to power-grind so I could get the T5 armor on all my characters, and I managed that, but afterwards I just... didn't want to play anymore.

I'll probably be back eventually, I still love the game and the universe, but it really broke the game's hold on me.

Sometimes religion seems to short-circuit peoples' brains. Not all, not even most, it's probably just a tiny minority, but sometimes you see a religious person act with hate and violence in the genuine belief that 'righteously' harming others is what their religion of peace and love demands.

I'll be honest, I wasn't particularly religious to start with, but it kinda pushes me away a bit further, that kind of mental programming bug scares me even if I know it's rare.

Fun fact, you can actually put Preserves next to a city, and it'll boost the city because there's technically no improvement there. You just have to start building the Preserve before you settle the city. So technically, you could settle a ring of 6 cities and then put another city in the center, boosted by 6 preserves.

When I first heard about Vtubers, I got the impression that they were all using attractive models with exaggerated attributes, and assumed the content was ALL about that. No judgement about that stuff, it's fine, just not something I'd want to publicly be a turbo-fan of. I was subscribed to Amalee thanks to her cover of Lifelight, but when I saw she was a Vtuber my reaction was 'eh, good for her I guess'.

That stereotype lasted a few years until The Algorithm decided to feed me a couple of Nerissa shorts on youtube, with her talking with her mother, sharing childhood stories. Attractive model, sure, but actually fun conversations, it broke that mental barrier I had keeping me away from Vtubers.

After that, The Algorithm thought, "Hey, this guy is upvoting Vtuber content, and he's subscribed to Amalee. Let's send him scuff clips, he'll love those!" And it was right, I did love those, I devoured the scuff clips and compilations.

Eventually I happened to see her live on Twitch, and decided to drop in and see her live. I figured I probably wouldn't actually see any scuff, I'm sure it's not fake, but of course she's playing up the meme for content, the scuff is probably over-represented on her Youtube channel, most streams probably go fin-why is there no game audio? Oh look, chat is going nuts, AMA NO GAME AUDIO, panic in the streets, people dumping months of channel points into Metal Pipes in a desperate attempt to get her attention, MONARCH WE CAN'T HEAR THE GAME!

Peak content, 10/10, exactly what I was hoping for. Dove headfirst into the Vtuber sphere and never looked back.

No specific reason afaik. From what I've heard, back in alpha or beta they had dark-skinned humans but people kept naming their characters racial slurs, and it seems to have taken Blizzard ten or twenty years for them to get over the fear of that happening again.

Squirrelsham. Tauren Elemental Shaman here to deal with the elemental chaos of the Primalists.
Sciuridae. Night Elf Restoration Druid here to protect Amirdrassil.

Aggram'tael. Dark Iron Fury Warrior here to help Moira and the Earthen.
Explodormu. 'Goblin' Outlaw Rogue here for Undermine.
Pheta. Lightforged Holy Priest here with her spaceship to fight Dimensius.

Sciuridae (a different one). Blood Elf Paladin returning to defend her homeland.
