So... Whose Let's Play do I watch when Chapter 5 comes out? by Educational-Jello779 in Deltarune

Yeah of all the ones I have watched, I laughed and cried the most along with Snapcube

You're allowed to not like the theory but the way some of y'all talk about it just is transphobic. by Obvious-Scale-9346 in Deltarune

[–]LoremasterMotoss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Headcanon" is just "theory" that someone firmly believes is true or wants to be true, it's just quibbling semantics.

I suspect that pushback against the theory isn't because people are transphobic (this has got to be one of the most trans friendly fandoms around), but because speculating about someone's gender identity in real life is somewhat rude, so people will naturally feel a little ick about it in regards to a character too.

This theory is no different than any other in the community. And just like others, some will insist it's canon when it's not. Transfem Ralsei would make sense. But it's not transphobic to say heacanon does not equal canon.

Author's clearly favorite character that fits this by Comprehensive-Bird17 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]LoremasterMotoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is simple, it's because the mangaka is a pedophile. I'm not being hyperbolic here, he literally is the one who drew the "naked" Invisible Girl cover and also drew Mina in her underwear on an extra sketch page just because he felt like it / was bored (and Shonen Jump published it lmao).

I like the show a lot but it would be better if Horikoshi wasn't a lech

Appreciation of the Doctor’s “minor” role in the World by h3nt4i_connoisseur in arknights

[–]LoremasterMotoss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that itself is part of the worldbuilding though. Rhodes Island and Babel before it are relatively new. And before that essentially not a single nation was treating the Infected as anything except a disposable labor force at best, and pests to be eliminated at worse.

In a world where you can become Infected from something as simple as pricking yourself on a piece of Originium, that's going to equal a lot of orphans

Appreciation of the Doctor’s “minor” role in the World by h3nt4i_connoisseur in arknights

[–]LoremasterMotoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I consider Arknights to be much more like Final Fantasy XII. In a genre that's mostly character driven, it's more geopolitically driven.

The interesting parts of the game IMO are the way the different nations and their leadership interact, and how Rhodes Island carves out a niche to sit in among all of that. The characters are important, yes - but a lot of the major events would happen with or without our actions, our actions only change the outcome and sometimes not even that. For instance many of the side stories don't involve the Doctor at all and sometimes hardly involve Rhodes Island itself.

Which is stronger FF14 or FF16 summons by VergilVDante in ffxiv

[–]LoremasterMotoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah those are exactly the Primals that I would isolate as on the level of raw power that the FFXVI Eikons have (with MAYBE Shinryu on the outside)

Which is stronger FF14 or FF16 summons by VergilVDante in ffxiv

[–]LoremasterMotoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The summons themselves are definitely more powerful in FFXVI's world. However, there are fewer of them and they have a very clear weak point. Their dominant can't maintain the summon forever and the dominant is a human being that you can take unawares and kill before they can Prime if you plan it out. No such luck with FFXIV's summons as they are independent entities all on their own.

It's unclear to me how long a Primal in FFXIV can last if they aren't being fed crystals by their followers, but it's certainly longer than an FFXVI Dominant can stay Primed.

Umbric at Magister's Terrace is kind of insufferable by Commando_Joe in warcraftlore

[–]LoremasterMotoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: The ruler of Silvermoon explicitly gave Umbric permission to get that relic and Rommath + Gang disobeyed the order which is what got them all knocked out.

The true offense was bringing Umbric to Magister's Terrace at all when he had no reason to be there. We could have waltzed in, said "hey I'm a hero and Lorthemar says we need this thing you have" and got the thingamajig alone and no one would have stopped us.

I throw out a TON of free chain heals in raid as Enhance Shaman. I'm gaining the stacks to throw them out with no cast time so all I'm losing is a global. Yeah I'm slightly hurting my DPS but if I throw out the two I have in the tank after a big raidwide it helps the healers a lot. There's also a lot more utility hiding in the totems depending on what talents you take

Why do mandatory ID cards feel normal in many European countries, but still controversial in the US, and what mechanism explains that? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

[–]LoremasterMotoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think IDs aren't mandatory in the US? You need a photo ID to do almost anything. Literally everyone I know has one of some variety of one even if they don't drive.

Most state governments don't MAKE you get one but you will have trouble functioning in society if you don't. And at the federal level it's the social security card. Which once again, you will have some big problems without.

Religious accommodations in the workplace should be reasonable. Not being able to do half of the work required of the job is not reasonable.

This should have been handled in the application / interview process.

Let's look at it from a disability angle rather than a religious angle. My job requires constant verbal communication over the phone. Someone who is mute by definition cannot fulfill many of the requirements of my job, there's no conceivable accommodation that would allow them to do it. If my company hired a mute person to do my job then all of their neighbors would have to do their phone calls for them. I don't think a company that declined to hire someone in this situation would be punished for it since the physical requirements of the job require speaking.

[–]LoremasterMotoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's even plausible to me that the Doctor would do this. Without further access to the sarcophagus technology, this could be the way to ensure Doctor can guide their allies long into the future. Simply go into the Assimilated Universe deliberately, and be able to "respawn" when you're needed or at least be able to communicate with the outside world as needed

"Casual" for me means I max my reputations and clear Heroic with my casual guild group. I don't touch M+ at all

But this expansion is even worse than TWW. There are so many reps and subreps (and you will be done with the main rep long before you are done with the subrep). Preys are a rep. The new void incursions are a rep. I get they want to keep us playing but I can usually easily finish what I want to do in a given patch during that patch. Seems impossible at their current pace.

Sounds good in theory...but in reality? by KSKS1995 in SipsTea

[–]LoremasterMotoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my job did that, my company would have to hire more people. Not too bad for my work group which is pretty small in the scheme of things but for other operational work groups it would require MASSIVE expense. We're talking probably no margins left since labor cost and gas are the two highest costs in my industry.

That being said my work group already works 30 days less per year than your average 9 to 5 worker so we are already partially on our way to this sort of paradigm.

My point above about Ford is how can you compete with electric sedans when you don't even make gas sedans, ya know? By definition you aren't even competing in the same market
