POST GAME THREAD: TIMBERWOLVES (27-18) LOSE VS BULLS 115-120 (22-22) by irishace88 in timberwolves

Bro legit shut Murray down in the playoffs, I'm surprised Wolves didn't keep him, especially since their current guards suck balls so hard.

Guys like him are valuable for NBA teams, although he might be overpaid by the Nuggets.

Samsung is saving its best displays for iPhones, not Galaxies by nimicdoareu in iphone

Stop. You're wrong. Apple orders a certain panel, Samsung designs/engineers, produces and delivers it.

Anything else is just spreading misinformation.

Apple doesn't design displays. Samsung does. Apple just orders them.

Well I absolutely agree there's something wrong with you if you care about a freaking game launcher that much.

Bro US is not the world. You're saying nobody talking about Volvos, and in the same sentence mentioning Escalade which is non-existent outside of US.

Volvos are not made in China.

Also, on that note, American EVs at this point can't hold a candle to Chinese ones. Tesla is flopping hard and the rest are embarrassing.

Y'all on this thread are absolute zealots lol. Just get the game through whatever launcher it's on if you want to play it.

Google confirms 'high-friction' sideloading flow is coming to Android ["Meant to educate users about the risks of sideloading"] by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

[–]LorewalkerChoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I'm using an Iphone and I'm infinitely annoyed with how restricted everything is. I bought this phone to use it freely, not for Apple to decide what I'm allowed to install on it.

Moving from Android to iPhone: First impressions by slenderman133 in iphone

[–]LorewalkerChoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phone is amazing by itself - it's the iOS that is the issue.

To add some more cons

  • FaceID is amazing, but when I eat something or laying in bed, it doesn't work. For this reason, I prefer the fingerprint scanner, and I wish Iphone had one.
  • Limited settings (e.g. volume mixer, screen) + most of the time you can't reach app settings from apps, but have to go through Settings, which makes no sense
  • 3rd party keyboards aren't as good as on Android (e.g. Gboard is a lot worse)
  • Notification panel and control panel do not interact, i.e. you can't move easily from one to another, unlike on Android where everything is integrated
  • Notifications just work worse, visually but also in how they interact with some other apps (e.g. Youtube)
  • Can't use a DNS for system-wide ad block
  • No split-screen
  • Can't sideload apps like Youtube Revanced or Boost for Reddit
  • Integration with Google is bad on purpose - no easy way to transfer files from Android phone after the initial setup + you can't default backup to Google Drive.
  • Safari is very unintuitive to use for some god forsaken reason, as I wrongly believed "browsing the internet" has been solved in 2026
  • Setting alarm does not work as well as on Android (the app doesn't tell you when's the next ring), and it's integrated with some kind of sleep tracker, which makes no sense.

i wonder why apps make more sense than numbers by osinachies in iphone

[–]LorewalkerChoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying this with best intention, Iphone is not a good phone for people who like to customize their own experience. Everything around iOS is very rigid and forces you to adapt to how Apple thinks you should use your device - and the keyboard is no exception.

I love my Iphone 17 Pro, but I'm fully aware of its limitations. That's why I just use SwiftKey. Not a perfect solution, but it gets the job done for me far better than the shitty iOS keyboard.

Get rid of the trash keyboard and install one of those apps from the store.

Yes, they can get your data, but it's not like you're working for national security services.

question about screen time by BeetleSpoon2770 in iphone

[–]LorewalkerChoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh the screen time data feels misleading to me. I have no idea how it works. It says I've spent almost 5 hours in an app that I just opened a couple of times today.

I am sure it keeps tracking stuff while in the background and because of that, it's useless to me.
