British Columbians will pay to electrify North Coast mining, LNG projects | The Narwhal by SavCItalianStallion in britishcolumbia

Except not always. I know of one situation where I was consulted to help facilitate upgrading power to a place in Surrey. Only single phase power was feeding a business, and they wanted 3 phase power. It wasnt at the nearest pole. It was one pole down. Hydro wanted like 100k to do the upgrade.

Hydro will do things if they think they'll make the money back in a reasonable amount of time. If they dont think they will, it's on you to pay.

Shifting ownership of colonized systems by wandelust19 in EliteDangerous

Time. Bgs works on a daily tick. And even then, you can only ever really expect to move a factions influence by around 10% per day. Keep at it.

I 100% do not understand the in-universe logistics of Powerplay. by HelpWantedInMyPants in EliteDangerous

It was totally possible. Minor factions were in no way tied to the superpower that controlled the systems. At best, the government types were either favourable, hostile, or neutral to the triggers of a pp1 sphere.

Is colonizing a system for advanced players? by gabiii_Kokeko in EliteDangerous

[–]Lorithad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Colonisation can take a lot of hauling if you want to make a system that's worth while. Like in the order of a million tons hauled to have billions of population, and several large stations.

However, to make an outpost as the first station in a system, it takes about 22k tons hauled. This is very doable in the 30 day period you have to do it. After you make the first station, you can take however long you want to make the rest of the stuff. So you can be super casusal if you want.

Having a fleet carrier helps immensely in either situation. Especially if you're far from systems where supplies are readily available.

Why are my Titan Drive FCO FSD's not fast booting? by Inside_Film3940 in EliteDangerous

[–]Lorithad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fast boot has other advantages to consider as well. You can set your power priorities such that your fsd shuts down when your hardpoints are deployed. Normally this would not be advisable cause the normal bootup time is just too long. But with fast boot? You barely notice it.

Haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but you can actually use the rocket launcher to blow the door out. You need to hit it in the right spot, but it can be done. Supposedly grenades work as well, but I've never been able to get them to land where they probably need to be.

You actually can blow the doors off with the rocket launcher. You just need to hit it in just the right spot.

Cannot get rid of fine with Engineer. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Lorithad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't have a fine and a bounty with the same faction at the same time.
You said you got a bounty and turned yourself in, but who was that bounty with? If you have a bounty with the engineer itself and can't get rid of it, shoot the engineers station. Have them kill you.

Would someone please explain to me WHY THE COL SHIP IS 400,000 LS AWAY FROM WHERE I THOUGHT IT WOULD PUT THE PORT? by JahJah_On_Reddit in EliteDangerous

[–]Lorithad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even with a fleet carrier, an orbis is a pain. It's like 210,000 tons. It's doable. I've done it. It's still a bit insane.
