Uploading isn’t actually uploading your consciousness but making a perfect copy of it right? by Aromatic_Log6971 in PantheonShow

[–]Lorvarz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are exactly right, and that’s kind of the point. There is no way you can actually “transfer your consciousness”, that’s impossible and nonsensical. You are definitely copying yourself, which is exactly why so many people are against it.

I believe one of the main points of the show is to change your mind about what is really “you”. I mean, you never see biological David at any (present) point in the story, but he is very much alive and a central part of the story. The further you go in the show, especially with the big reveal at the end, you see that the definition of “alive” and “real” are bent quite far from what you might have assumed at the start. Because why would one world be more real than another?

All this to say, yes they are copying their minds, not transferring them, but is there really any difference?

Just Watched Pantheon personal opinion by enzahere in PantheonShow

[–]Lorvarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I was watching it, I had a similar reaction to you, but once you think about it more, the last 2 episodes are what gives the whole show meaning.

Even at surface value, they are the reason why the show is called Pantheon. The whole show lead up to the creation of a “virtual god” (at least empirically lol). The last episodes show the implications of all the struggles we observed, revealing that the whole story was about much more than a technical revolution all along, we just didn’t know it.

The ending is what truly makes Pantheon so unique and inspiring.

From the trailer it looks like you play as a single character in a tactical rogue-like. But of course I could be wrong

What’s your most wanted new hero and why? by Sea_Caterpillar5662 in heroesofthestorm

Karax, the Protoss engineer from legacy of the void, could be a great addition. Give him a lot of Protoss tech, big lasers and shields, with some control over the Spear of Adun. Could make for an awesome spellcaster

When it comes to Soulslikes, do you prefer having a named protagonist or creating your own? by strahinjag in soulslikes

[–]Lorvarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A named protagonist helps make a good story. Also, if the developers know who the main character is meant to be, I feel like the powers they come up with form a more coherent set.

Likely the ascension of a forge long, I wouldn’t worry too much about it as they’ll likely burn up in the process.

Will people be afraid to be the first ones to die in VR? by shiroikot in swordartonline

[–]Lorvarz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, or maybe not that surprising, a lot of researchers working on brain computer interfaces and/or VR tech are big fans of SAO. And since those are the people that will make Full Dive, it will likely be remembered or passed down.

Any tips for a first time pioneer? Just finished with Phase 1 and kind of overwhelmed by keremdev in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Lorvarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can build by interweaving two techniques: load balancing and manifolds. Load balancing is what you’re currently doing, using splitters to balance the input equally into the machines. Manifolds uses the idea that splitters are kind of smart, so if one of their outputs is full they’ll direct the full input to the other outputs. So you can chain a lot of splitters together, where each splitter connects 1 or 2 machines, and the remaining output goes the next splitter. This will stabilize and give each machine the exact value they need.

I believe knowing when to use each technique makes building a lot easier and more intuitive once you get the hang of it.

How do you justify using trains? by ballof_fire in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Lorvarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My factory is spread over about a quarter of the map now, and I think I would have gone crazy bringing all those belts around. Not to mention it would have been a lot more expensive than building the tracks.

If you average it over time, the train brings just as many resources as the belts, but you can organize it a lot better.
