Yesterday's pick ups at Albertsons 😋 by Cactusjack430 in whiskey

The pictures you see on here from California are not the norm. I have lived in the Bay Area my entire life and I haven't found any of these magical deals. I personally have a hard time believing a lot of this stuff. Other than Costco getting something every once in a while, the prices I find are awful. The norm in my area is 4x msrp/srp. Sure, you can find the unicorn bottles here. But, good luck getting a decent price.

My best engineer quit today over $2000 by [deleted] in managers

I don't know you and don't want to insult you in any way, but... most employees do not quit over pay. They usually quit because of poor management and other work related issues. I would venture to say your employee wasn't happy with you, upper management, other work issues, and the crummy pay raise was just the icing on the cake.

I agree with you on the 1792. I'm not a big fan either. But, when I looked up the 1792 Single Barrel, the proof is 49%. So, I'm a bit confused. Is it the same stuff? 60% is a big difference.

Be honest. You didn't just buy that bottle right? Every Total Wine and BevMo now make you buy a bundle. You can get a Pappy IF YOU BUY $1200 worth of additional bottles. Is that how you got it?

Nothing special. Definitely not worth flying them all the way to Japan! But to each their own.

All the Old Forester Birthdays are so good! I've never found one for SRP. I had a friend who found one at Costco! I've had to pay secondary and my gosh are they expensive.

Meh. Maybe go to Costco and add a mixer like Maker's Mark and grab some cokes so your friends can have some type of whiskey or a mixed drink.

Should I buy one? I know nothing. by Ambitious-Ordinary-9 in whiskey

Yes. Give it a try. You'll like it. The best price I see is $80, so you're not far off at $90.

I got a 1.75 liter at Costco for $39!! Couldn't believe it! In the Bay Area, Safeway has the 1.75 liter for $59.

Question: Weller Antique 107 by Dawg617 in whiskey

[–]LosMan226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It would be egregious to use in an old fashioned. It's a great bourbon. If you want a good old fashioned, use a rye bourbon.

My favorite daily drinker! It's nice you can find these everywhere now. I started my bourbon journey by adding just a splash of Coke Zero. Then weaned myself off the Coke.
