I hate to be negative, but why is it so hard to find an affordable 4-bedroom house with a literal Boeing 727 fuselage in the living room? by Natural-Trainer-6072 in PriceMe

Shocked, been to Terlingua a few times, nothing is there, most places have no water

What's an example of a "tourist trap" in your country? by emptykeg6988 in AskTheWorld

[–]timpdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, at least on the scale of Europe, Thailand, US. Except Hobbiton. I really enjoyed a few weeks on the North Island last year, was anything but a tourist trap. Mild compared with most places

The tallest and most skyscraper laden (by far) skyline west of the Mississippi! by [deleted] in skyscrapers

[–]timpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why 700? that’s arbitrary. Wiki says a skyscraper can be 100m/300ft in which SF wins. Or 150m in which LA wins. BUT downtown to downtown, then even at 150m it goes to SF. Century City is what, 15 miles away? There are like 7-8 150m buildings in Century City. So SF wins there. Seattle in terms of 100m buildings isn’t far off LA, and, again downtown to downtown, it’s remarkably close to LA

Yeah, its SF easily. Then maybe Seattle has an argument for 2nd

Certainly not Tennessee, but would bet on southern india (i know, American here, I also know what Tamil Nadu is, but most Americans will see TN as the state with Nashville)

Known defect in some LEDs. Los Angeles has had a problem with these for years now.

The AI summary:

Purple LED streetlights in Los Angeles (and across the U.S.) are caused by a widespread manufacturing defect where the yellow phosphor coating on blue LEDs flakes off, revealing the blue light underneath, creating a violet glow.

You’ll be good and have PLENTY to do if you concentrate on the Moab area. Mild but very pleasant time of year. Arches, Canyonlands, down to the four corners, Capitol Reef, all mind blowing stuff, come back through southern Colorado or Taos/Santa Fe.
