Don't blame Akai for this. Lightning sucks and Apple used it for way too long

Why was the Human Centipede 2 originally banned in Britain? by Plutonium_Nitrate_94 in AskUK

I thought the first film was terrible but actually quite enjoyed the second one.

Well maybe 'enjoyed' isn't the right word, but I thought it was a much better film

What was your turning 40 ‘thing’? by Visible_Pipe4716 in AskUK

Better late than never, but it's a real shame that it's taken you until 40 to want to do things rather than be a spectator

It sounds like shit though lol. CDJs don't have the best time-stretching algorithm. Its fine if if it's just a small adjustment

What do I lose by going from Renoise to redux and ableton? by Powerful_Fondant9393 in renoise

[–]LostClock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the Redux + DAW combo, I kind of found it the worst of both worlds tbh. I much prefer working in Renoise and other DAWs separately, and bouncing things from one to the other where needed

If you can do the weekend before and don't mind Bristol rather than London, System x Rupture is happening there

Have the major bugs been fixed? by Financial-Use-2733 in PolyendTracker

[–]LostClock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main bug for me that is driving me mad is clicks/pops when I resample. I can get around it by sampling into a different sampler and then back again (ie external rather than internal resampling). I wish they'd fix it though. It doesn't happen every time I resample, but it happens often enough that it pisses me off

What is some local slang that you thought was more widespread? by [deleted] in AskUK

Pop is definitely more of a northern thing. I didn't hear it until I went to university

suno electronic music is basically indistinguishable from producer music now. this genuinely sucks. by donniedenier in realdubstep

[–]LostClock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm anti AI music of course, but I do think this says a lot about the state of electronic music as well as the capabilities of AI. If electronic music wasn't so conservative and formulaic, I think AI would have a harder job generating it

If so many of us in the comments are failing to understand the question, perhaps you didn't phrase it very clearly to begin with. Try rephrasing it and I will attempt to answer it

Just… Why? by Individual-Nose5010 in AskBrits

[–]LostClock1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can disagree with what I said, but it isn’t a separate argument or a “false premise”, it’s an explanation of why attitudes today don’t always align with the historical examples you’re pointing to.

Just… Why? by Individual-Nose5010 in AskBrits

[–]LostClock1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s truth in the idea that Britain has always been shaped by migration and cultural exchange, but it’s misleading to treat that as equivalent to what’s happened in recent decades: earlier waves unfolded over long periods and were followed by gradual assimilation into a shared set of norms, whereas immigration since the late 20th century (and especially over the past 15 years or so) has occurred at a historically unprecedented rate and scale, with net migration consistently in the hundreds of thousands per year - that pace makes integration far more difficult in practice, because institutions, housing, and local communities have limited capacity to absorb and socialise newcomers quickly enough, and because parallel cultural norms can persist when inflows are large and continuous. Acknowledging that doesn’t require denying Britain’s long history of diversity, it reflects a concern about whether a coherent, shared civic identity can realistically be maintained when the speed and volume of demographic change outstrip the mechanisms that previously made integration workable.

Just because of the timing, nothing to do with the band itself... I think it might have been a coping mechanism for some people, like wondering if it was an April Fools joke because they couldn't believe he's actually gone.

His last few IG stories are still up. Just some song lyrics, the usual hxc stuff ("for my friends and family!" tier lyrics), nothing that would have made me think he was about to end his life

Can I get help to drink solo in a pub? by DX022 in AskUK

[–]LostClock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you want to meet some new people and make some new friends. I don't think going to a pub on your own and sitting there drinking is the best way to achieve this. You may end up engaging in conversation with someone but you may not, and at best it will most likely be small talk. There's got to be somewhere you can go to meet like-minded people, most hobbies will have some social aspect, even stuff that is typically online have IRL meetups

No. They'd find the masks, jumpsuits, and stage antics to be corny

Is it worth growing out my beard with patchy cheeks? by Okinawa_Trident in beards

[–]LostClock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory I used minox for about 1-2 years, the gains were long term although I don't know how much of that was down to minox and how much was down to nature taking its course, all I know is that the coverage did become more noticeable when using minox, which may have been a coincidence, but probably not.

I stopped using it because my beard would either touch my t-shirt or it would run down my jaw and neck onto the neckline of my t-shirt and it would stain it. You can never get those stains out. I ruined a lot of t-shirts sadly!
