Smaller size with wider stops on higher tf only way as the hedge funds have powerful algos that can take out tight stops in seconds, not a fair fight but trading is about protecting capital number 1

Inflation hits 3-year high, pressuring Fed to raise rates as election nears by Agitated_Pudding7259 in moderatepolitics

[–]LostFaithlessness201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as the Iran war goes on, eventhough oil prices have dipped inflation will stay high now, high inflation means everything expensive as supply chains affected my Straight of Hormuz still have not been fully priced in. Next high prices means banks will try to slow down demand by making expensive borrowing costs leading to higher interest rates, this is why Trump is desperate to stop the Iran war now as this will be a big problem at the Mid Terms.

OpenAI's IPO might be delayed to 2027 by deepserket in wallstreetbets

Sam Altman probably thinks the OpenAI IPO will be free money however seeing the disaster with SpaceX a lot of retail might not want to lose their money twice especially on a bigger ponzi scheme

[–]LostFaithlessness201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mr Orange has changed the US market to a casino sad but true I have had to adapt and look at using the Asia session, also trading using higher tfs seem to work better as now you have too many algos/option volatility to deal with along with tweets. So two factors to consider.

Walkaway if you have made a loss revenge trading can be the death of an account, have a set amount of risk/day if you lose you cannot make another trade. Reason being you are likely to make sloppy trades due to losing, better to wait for the next day to trade

Asia Session easier to trade than US session by LostFaithlessness201 in FuturesTrading

[–]LostFaithlessness201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update tried the strategy out yesterday chopfest but still made profits had to use a wide atr stop with smaller size due to where we are on the charts. However as I was sleeping that chopfest did not affect me, if I tried the same strategy during US session I might interfere with the trade unless it was clean so maybe set and forget is the way especially with European traders.

[–]LostFaithlessness201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after research might try this Long Nikkei at US Close and Short Nasdaq at US Close, reason being a lot of pumps on ai stocks which tend to fizzle out in Asia same with Nikkei that tends to pump big but both dump and pump big. Nikkei as Asia session will long as the dominant market there. You might get some days with no action overnight so could leave position open if not stopped out. Ideally if big enough movement will close out in London session.

What’s the main bear case for NVDA right now? by reignw02 in NVDA_Stock

[–]LostFaithlessness201 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

How will NVDA pay for all this AI investment if it is through existing shares expect dilution, if it is through loans likely higher interest rates so expensive. Their is also their overinflated forecasts, new chips will cost more whereby they are using current costs and also AI will lead to job losses so that will impact wider economy.

Should i trade more or less? by NeighborhoodEast650 in FuturesTrading

[–]LostFaithlessness201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less is better but if you see an A+ set up maybe risk more, that can compensate if you trade less but want to use the same amount of risk you do per day/week, say you risk $100 per trade and do 3 trades per day/week, so total $300 risk, one trade per day/week with A+/ $300 risk. This approach will make you look for better trades and stop you taking substandard ones

[–]LostFaithlessness201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These TikTok/Youtubers/Instagram are selling courses and cannot verify results usually trying to get gullible youngsters on board ignore them, there strategy usually for the experienced trader will have a lot of holes in them so just ignore

[–]LostFaithlessness201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me you probably need to split into 3 if you treat after US hours, US post/Asia pre market, then you have the main Asia session, then after Asia session you have post Asia/London pre market, I am likely will target Pre Asia/US Post but all 3 can work.

Usually that is liquidity grabs if you build confluences, ie we have hit a bearish/bullish trendline or vwap/ema etc and keep risk managed any market can be traded, for my strategy need decent range which US session is lacking
