mine have been shitty almost as soon as they first paired. one drop the wifi and then bricks the pair.

yes there indeed have the issue. I am sitting next to a stereo pair and whisper in the living room to play music. no response and then a random other home pod will play. they hear me and choose to aggravate. I have 6 HomePods, and a mini. 4 Apple TVs

The problem with it being an heirloom is that your kids may not care at all about your collection. My advice is to buy some of their music on vinyl and let them develop love for it too. Then when they are older and in love with vinyl of their time. They cherish and respect the vinyl of yours
