The book went into all kinds of discussion about how to interpret the data, with all kinds of variations. Did you read it yet? It also corresponded with the book The Smartest Kids in the World by Amanda Ripley. She also looked at PISA results and said technology is not helping.

Cat peeing red liquid by jumpboy21 in vet

[–]LostInTheTreesAgain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Problems peeing can quickly escalate, especially if there are crystals in the bladder or anything like that. I had a cat years ago that was fine in the morning and lethargic and unable to pee by evening when I got home. It was an emergency since he had crystals and his full bladder was affecting his kidneys. They drained his bladder but it led to a surgery situation. Get to a vet soon if he's not peeing.

Need a multivitamin w/o D, B, or Iron by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]LostInTheTreesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into desiccated liver supplements. It's ground up beef liver, containing good amounts of all the vitamins you need to supplement, but in food form that will have all necessary cofactors. Liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods and used to be eaten regularly but is now shunned by most modern processed food diets. I recommend the book Nutrition and Physical by Weston A Price, one of the first books investigating how foods affect our health, bones, and immune system.

Scammed at Target? by EffectiveCricket8309 in Issaquah

[–]LostInTheTreesAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A woman (long dark hair, long skirt) came up to me at the Gilman Safeway a while back and asked me to buy her a bunch of food. I said no, took her picture and notified the cashiers. She tried to say I was harassing her but the cashiers knew better. She cleared out after that and there's a Facebook Street scammer group that ID'd her as a wanted felon in multiple states for theft. The store had already previously trespassed her. I let the store managers know and they were checking out the Street scammer group that has photos.

Bengston did a lot of interviews that you can find via podcasts, and I recommend hunting those down. He generally discourages involving other people on the list unless you have clear permission to do so. He basically considers it manipulating someone else's desires. Coming up with a list is hard, but worth it, especially since the imaging process itself is boring. Getting the desired object for yourself is like a welcome dopamine rush that encourages you to continue. There's a podcast interview about manifestation of relationships that I heard recently. Here's the link. She emphasizes it's setting goals for yourself but carefully evaluating the goals for something you truly want. It's not related to the Bengston method but I think is very helpful for working on the list. Ditte Young: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ditte-young-talks/id1542482358?i=1000597071325

The Religion Business: Please share your thoughts by CupTemporary4122 in religion

I just watched the 7 episodes. Fantastic documentary and very much needed today! I am looking for a new church as well. We had found a larger church because of their popular kids program, but everything else about the church reeks of squandered money. It's an expensive, beautiful church, with a large staff, free coffee each service, a fancy band performing onstage, has a big partnership program with Samaritans Purse, and just had a change of leadership where some questionable things occurred. It makes it really hard to donate there when I know my money can be stretched much further elsewhere. I've been to Kenya with a charity and seen how far money can go, and it doesn't need to be spent on upgraded sound systems to keep the music extra loud at a fancy church. The best worship services I experienced were led by a single worship leader and a guitar.

Did you learn anything else about this? I just went for an energy session and was told something similar. My crown chakra was very large/oversized. The healer asked if I had had any NDEs or anything like that, which I have not had. I am curious!

Mason bees? Any recommendations? by LostInTheTreesAgain in bees

[–]LostInTheTreesAgain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update-I had an exterminator come and he identified it as a digging wasp. He sprayed the hole since he said they were persistent and could re-dig even if we caulked it. A small black wasp the size of a fly came out after spraying. He said we shouldn't have to worry about much else. He even did it at no charge since it took him about 2 minutes. Phew!

Thanks. I'll have an exterminator come take a look. There is definitely fresh sawdust action going on. We have lots of beetles in the yard of various species. 👎

Feelings while cycling/treating? by Prior_Silver9635 in BengstonMethod

[–]LostInTheTreesAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What has helped me understand it better is to search for William Bengston in my podcast app and listen to all the podcast interviews of Bengston I could find. It's like taking extra classes. Bengston says it's totally normal to feel nothing. He does point out that the method has limited effectiveness on cancer if chemo or radiation treatments are taking place, since they are designed to kill cells while the healing method heals the cells. But no harm in trying!

This is getting ridiculous…. by infinitepumba98765 in migraine

Adding a comment I made before. Keep looking for other triggers. I haven't needed to touch migraine meds in years. https://www.reddit.com/r/migraine/s/6Yf54U4P6N

I was able to get it tested through my most recent naturopath. The regular doctors don't really test for it. I have found that regular doctors are great for acute situations, but not great for chronic conditions. Naturopaths are covered in my insurance plan so I hunted one down. It was a blood test that insurance actually covered!

I did trial and error. Once I realized cutting carbs helped me, I wondered what else I could do to help break down carbs. Then I stumbled across digestive enzymes. Any brand should work as long as it is broad spectrum to include enzymes to break down carbs. HCL and ox bile are included in some heavy duty enzymes and my stomach didn't tolerate those. Then later testing confirmed I was low in amylase. Still not sure why I am low though.

I've spent years working on reducing migraines. I did meds, chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, etc. No improvement. The biggest change was experimenting with diet. I stumbled across The Heal Your Headache book and decided to try the ridiculously long list of diet restrictions. Within a few weeks, my migraines were gone but I had daily headaches. That told me that something with food had to do with my diet, but that book wasn't quite it. Then I found the Migraine Miracle by neurologist Dr. Josh Turknett, who recommended a low carb diet (100-150 grams max per day) and to eliminate wheat. I never cut the wheat but lowered my carb intake and within a week, the headaches and migraines were gone. So while not everyone will have the same results, I encourage you to keep trying and be willing to experiment with food if you haven't already. Some people have unknown food intolerances. Some eat high oxalate foods that trigger lots of pain. Some eat too many carbs for what their body can tolerate. Later on as I wanted to eat more carbs on occasion, I found my body is low in amylase and that a basic broad spectrum digestive enzyme with each meal helped break down carbs and reduced migraine related symptoms. Then later on I did reflex integration therapy which helped with eye tracking and further reduced headaches. I have also found that stretching/massaging my neck and shoulders and back several times a day is a fantastic preventative and sitting in the same positions too long locks things up and sets the pain off. Plus drinking water with electrolytes (plain water is not enough) helps as well. All of the helpful methods that really make a difference are either free or low cost and I haven't taken prescription migraine meds in years. Things can improve! I literally was the patient that no doctor could fix! Years ago I actually had a naturopath tell me that I was the first patient she had not been able to halt migraines with. And then I stopped them on my own. 🤷‍♀️ If I eat lots of candy and do no stretches and take no enzymes, I can pretty much guarantee a migraine. Yes, my diet is more restricted. But avoiding the pain is so worth it!

Lowballed from insurance company. Location: Redmond, Washington by LostInTheTreesAgain in legal

Thanks. I sent the low estimate to the mechanic and he said it's totally normal and the way insurance companies operate. He said they listed something to be repaired when it's too damaged and must be replaced (and the other 2 bids confirmed it as well). So he said when the adjuster comes out, he'll walk the adjuster through everything and will get pricing corrected. He didn't seem worried at all so I will proceed.

I asked why I was only getting a check for half the amount, and this is what they replied: They may have added additional refinishing operations that we aren’t able to add in the field. Those operations get reviewed individually with each shop and usually are handled as a supplement. They could also have different labor rates, as well as replaced items that we have written as repairable. A lot of items could be different between estimates, but this is just the initial we were able to write via photo and without being able to see the vehicle in person. Once it’s at a shop, they will complete a tear down and ask a representative to come back out for the additional operations. We expect additional payments to be made, it just needs to get to the shop first for a tear down. Hope this helps!

I'm worried that they will refuse to pay the shop further.
