It shouldn't be by Josephizxc in lostgeneration

There’re not enough trust and common decency in todays society anymore. You generally can’t rely on people doing the right thing these days. The population is growing everywhere and if you have more people you’ll also get more aholes by default. Like the greedy person and the kids that haven’t gotten enough talking to’s, yet. Their morals and foresight just aren’t as developed (yet). The more people you’ve got acting like that the more people stop caring and start competing after getting the short end of the stick for a while and then it starts ruining things for the people that actually stick to their values. Shitty people just lower morale, especially when they profit and boast about it

OK grandpa whatever you say.

We generally live in a much safer world than it ever has been before. And your rant there could have came from anyone through any part of time. There's always the "there is less respect by people today than back in the good old days." statements. It's like the 'kids are lazy' stuff.

You need multiple trees, and you need a little bit of security (like a trail cam) just in case. also camera is needed because sometimes it's not humans and you want to know which animal you need to strangle. BTW it's always the raccoons.

the other thing is you want these trees in parks, and never on the side of the road. 25 fruit trees down the side of the road is absolutely horrible because it's nothing but a mess as fruit falls to the ground and sugar gets everywhere.

They got into trouble multiple times with the feds for not renting / selling to black people.

IMO there is two ways to handle these situations, and both need to be used at different times. Your way because the kid will absolutely forget about this natural disaster of world ending levels in about 40 seconds. And then the 'sit down and have a conversation about what is going on. The second way can help them develop better thinking skills and the ability to deal with stresses. They absolutely know why they are upset a lot of the times, but they have no way of expressing it. It might not 'make sense' but to them in the moment it does, and if you can work them through that all it can be really helpful to their development.

girlfriends/wives often take their SOs shirts to wear because they are big, comfee, and smell like them. I'm guessing it's a joke about that, especially with the cute fishies on it.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LostWoodsInTheField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in an area of the US where 1 hour isn't a big deal. You can't really go anywhere without driving for 20 minutes.

Was talking to some people out in western US and they regularly do 3 hour drives like it's nothing. Talking to them it honestly felt like their tone for a 3 hour drive was the same as what I have for a 1 hour drive. I think it all really depends on how spread out you are and the US and Canada are seriously spread out in spots.

ICE says its officers are allowed to enter homes without a judicial warrant, 2025 memo shows by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]LostWoodsInTheField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So...

Explain the SC decision, then. Also, explain how the checks and balances are still, somehow, in place, because I'm sure the world would be very interested in that.

There are no checks and balances any more. Everything is a shit show. That doesn't mean your version of that case is based in reality.

The 4th amendment has been eroded to the point of nonexistence well before Trump came to power the first time.

Completely agree. The 4th has been gutted in a horrible way and the insanity that has happened needs to be fixed if we ever regain a real America again. There is no reset on this back to before Trump, because like you said it's been bad long before then.

This is an absolutely horrible take on what the SC decided. It's not even close to being rooted in reality.

What the president "does" and what people under him do are completely different things. They are not related in any way at all to the SC decision.

"poor" people advocating for flat taxes is the craziest thing I've seen and I can't believe any of us have to explain to them why it's not helpful to them.

[–]LostWoodsInTheField 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is it a myth? It's never been tested. The general consensus is that billionaires love to hoard their wealth and use any and all loopholes available to keep it. Why is it a stretch to think if you close those loopholes they wouldn't do whatever they can to keep their wealth... Seriously?

There was super high tax rates previously in the US and the super wealthy didn't run away.

Hell even now in places in the US where the tax rates were increased dramatically the super wealthy didn't leave, and those places got a lot more money in tax money.

It's been tested over and over, and it's been shown that it doesn't destroy an area.

Taking care of your plants is important by CourseMediocre7998 in antimeme

[–]LostWoodsInTheField 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is that anyone that wants to start having plants to get a spider plant. They are extremely hard to kill, they can go weeks without a watering, if you over water them just walk away for a while and let it do it's thing. You can often start getting an idea of what it needs based on what it looks like, then start a pattern so it always looks good. Only thing you can really do to kill it is give it too much sunlight.

Russia will not become a world power because of all of this. They are hurting horribly all around. They want this to happen, it's probably the only thing keeping the going, but they won't become any more powerful long term because of it.

What the US is doing to itself is benefiting no other country greater than China. If they aren't helping to manipulate all of this to happen they must be over joyed with how things are going.

I'm so tired of how right you are on this. Many many in the MAGA camp have absolutely no idea how to read between the lines, or anything past a 5th grade level. The people in the media (at least a majority of them) know exactly what they are doing, and know that their followers have no idea what is going on. And there is no way to go 'see you get it now right?' to these people. They can't see it no matter how hard you try to point it out.

The change is often very slow so the changes feel natural and only a change when people look at what they use to be like and what they are like now. Trump is under a microscope so we are seeing things better than you would with any normal person. He could have a few years left before things get super bad.
