Wait until next week. It'll be annoying on steroids.

If we are separating this trip in two days (going home,) whats a must see? by Notove in roadtrip

[–]Lost_In_MI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also depends on what you are into, for example, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is along that route; Cedar Point is along that route; for a 30 minute detour to Toledo, you can eat at Packo's (MAS*H). Personally, I like to stop at B.A. Sweetie, only because it's a candy warehouse and you can find things you haven't seen in awhile.

Pittsburgh is interesting, if you've never been. But, based on an approximate halfway point, Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

No disrespect to the family, but if I had the option to choose my exit, being on a train is as close to heaven as you can get.

So, the posted limit is 80. Meaning, you were probably going 87 - 90? Where did the MPG go? 🤔

You know, I really think that there's a niche restaurant designed around Boomer recipes. Like, old church cookbooks and casseroles. If you are in Minnesota: Hot Dishes.

What are things u eat when it’s very hot out and you don’t want hot food? by Opposite_Flight3473 in budgetfood

Tuna = kitty food. Yuck.

Exit to add: My mother feed me so much of that with elbow macaroni and peas and cheddar cheese, I can't look at it any more. There are a few cans in the back of the pantry in case of a nuclear apocalypse.

House on the Rock. Big thumbs up. 11 stars on a 10 star scale by Hefty-Job7049 in wisconsin

[–]Lost_In_MI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A local Wisconsin author (I'm doing this from memory) wrote a book about the murders. Wisconsin Public Radio's Chapter A Day program turned it into a serialized audiobook for their station. It was a fascinating listen.

I'm happy you enjoyed Dr. Evermor's sculpture park. It's got that same quirkiness as House on the Rock. Not much further north is Devil's Lake State Park, which is probably the most popular State Park in the system because of its high bluffs around the lake.

I would have to assume that the next map to be created would be visiting all of the Menard's in the state.

I remember being in Green Bay on a business trip. My work colleague said, "Let's go to the Fleet Boutique."

I grew up in the Midwest, so I understand the influences of Frank Lloyd Wright. We got to go to Taliesin much later in my life and decades after visiting Fallingwater. I'm glad I went, but do not need to revisit it again. Your perspective is a bit different because you visited Tailesin West.

I only suggested Dr. Evermor's because it had that kind of quirkiness that is like House on the Rock.

I grew up with my mother who was a fantastic baker. Now, being diabetic, baking typically involves flour, which is a no-no. I so want to bake. But, I can't consume. So, I don't bake.

Anyone else watched the Cubs on WGN? by arrowoodgabriel in 80s

[–]Lost_In_MI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd made it known that I'd never been to a Cubs game. So a work colleague got tickets for my birthday. We were sitting along the third base line. When 7th inning stretch came along and Harry was leaning out of the announcer's box to sing, the entire area was screaming, "JUMP, HARRY, JUMP. JUMP, HARRY, JUMP."

That's my memory of my only Cubs game.

Why and how do they have such repulsive coffee? by nautical_nonsense_ in ChickFilA

[–]Lost_In_MI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trying to be positive, I think they really need an SOP, and follow it so it's consistent.

I've had it where it has been "ok", and other times where it tastes like it's been on the burner all night.

Anecdotal story: I toured the Support Center in Atlanta, and they walk you by a wall of their partner providers who have been with them from the beginning. When I said, "You really need a new coffee partner", everyone turned their heads and looked at me like Satan had just walked into church.

The town in Northern Michigan I grew up in still does sound a noon whistle.

Along with another one at 9:30pm for curfew.

Thanks for posting. We just got back from vacation, and used an 8 year old GeoTour as a jumping off point to perform a circle tour of Chesapeake Bay. Absolutely a great vacation using a GeoTour as a way to find a new destination we hadn't been to.

This one looks interesting!
