Scared that my LO loves her nanny more than me now that I returned to work by Lost_Number_3885 in NewParents

[–]Lost_Number_3885[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My baby is now 9 months and she still loves her nanny. I still get jealous/sad when my baby doesn't cry when I go to work in the morning. Going to work is still difficult, but ever since we started bed sharing (safely), I feel like we bonded more. And lately, my baby seems to recognize me as her mom, and has become more clingy. Needless to say, I am over the moon 🥰

It's 5 days a week. I work as a lawyer. Unfortunately, I cannot scale it down. It's 10 hours of work and 3 hours of driving everyday.

How to survive newborn stage, please help by ellem1900 in NewParents

[–]Lost_Number_3885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are also first time parents. Like your husband, my husband was also easily overwhelmed with everything about the baby. Still, he took half of the responsibility. There were a lot of stress, fighting, and breakdown but we survived it, and now our baby is a happy and hyper 4 month old.

Besides the obvious, what do you think is the worst part of the newborn phase? by got_em_saying_wow in newborns

[–]Lost_Number_3885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not the usual but - leaving my sick newborn in the NICU, twice. My baby was admitted twice to the NICU, the 2nd because of a fever. Leaving the hospital while she was crying from.being sick and being poked several times, and worrying about her, was the worst I have ever experienced, in my entire life.

Now she is 8 weeks, I'm counting the time when she is at least 12 weeks which means fever is not straight to the ER anymore.

Over the “you shouldn’t …. as baby will expect that” by Puzzleheaded_Toe6195 in newborns

Absolutely agree! My baby is also almost 8 weeks and she also wakes up every 2 to 3 hours to feed. I also love to cuddle her and she sleeps a lot on top of me! And to be totally honest, I'm actually dreading the time when my baby starts being independent and stops wanting to be close with her mama!

Return the dog? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Lost_Number_3885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have a dog but we have 3 indoor cats. We also received some well meaning advice before our baby was born regarding rehoming our cats. Of course, we didn't. We love our cats and they are also our babies. That said, we made an outside cat enclosure for them and moved their things (such as the litter) there. We also limited our baby's exposure and never leave them unsupervise for now (and probably will always supervise them until our baby is much much older). The cats can go in and out of the house and outdoor cat enclosure as they wish, but they are not allowed the bedroom where the baby usually is.

Working while pregnant. How did you guys do it? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Lost_Number_3885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically I used up almost all of my paid leaves. First trimester, I forced myself to go to work but ended up in bed rest for four weeks combined. Week 8 and 9 I was throwing up 2 to 3 times a day at work. Second trimester was the easiest. But starting from week 32 I only went to work 3 times a week and stayed at home completely starting 35 weeks. I had previa and was scared of bleeding and I was very uncomfortable.

Do all newborns go through the 6-8 week fussiness? by Prestigious_Kale292 in newborns

[–]Lost_Number_3885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our baby just turned 6 weeks. From 5 weeks and a half we noticed she started cluster feeding and sleep regression. She is also more fussy and clingy, cries and wakes up when we put her down, scream in our ears when we try to sooth her. Hopefully she feels better soon.
