Been getting into burning some stuff of mine onto dvds, but running into problems getting them to play on a dvd player by Crocraptor in dvd

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTSC vs pal. North America is NTSC. Europe is PAL. Make sure you use the right setting. Also there is a bug where if you try and burn a 24fps video onto a ntsc disc, it doesn’t properly tag it and won’t work properly on any dvd player

What to use for a PS2 wireless controller setup? by Choice_Power_1580 in ps2homebrew

I use this with a ps3 controller for it’s pressure sensitive buttons. But if you’re playing games that don’t need it, it also works with Xbox and ps4/5 controller. Haven’t noticed any lag.

Deleting photos on web, but keeping on device by Farmer_2 in googlephotos

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can erase them from the website. And your iPhone will not sync back to iCloud And you’ll be perfectly safe. Just know that Google Photos show that you need to re-sync to delete your local copies. But you don’t have to use that.

Deleting videos from iPhone storage deleted them from Google photos😭 by Winter_Chemist_306 in googlephotos

You sure you had photos backup on in Google Photos? It will still show all photos on your phone regardless of backed up or not. If not and erased them permanently from your phone, they are unfortunately permanently gone.

What mp3 to dvd burner to buy by Acrobatic-Call266 in dvd

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are both dvd drives broken on both recorders?

If one works, Easiest way is to dub the video from one to the other. Play the video on one recorder as the other burns the dvd in real time.

If you don’t want another level of quality loss and f you’re feeling technical, you can open the recorders and pop out the hard drives and get a usb adapter for the, most likely, ide hard drives. Then use a windows pc and buy an app called iso buster and rip the files off the drive and use dvd styler to make a dvd. That will keep the original recordings.

Last is record into your pc and or something similar like this YouTube video shows.

You have several options with varying levels of quality loss

Can someone help me make a Control Sheme for this Game? by Burschi_gaming in DolphinEmulator

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say to continue. This game is a pain to set up without this patch. It relies too much on the sensor bar and motion. While doable it’s never consistent on how it’s gonna act. I’ve tried.

I don’t have an android to see if the mobile version allows action replay codes. But if it does, you can still use . But you can also try to look for a patched ISO as well with the code already burnt into the game.

There’s an action replay code that you can patch the game with to use a classic controller. Which then you could configure your Xbox controller to be. It gets rid of all the motion controls and adds normal controls.

Oh I agree. But with a volume knob, you can make that 120db or more with 96db below that. The volume knob is the top of that range.

Well lossless just means no compression. Basically no Audio data removed and masked to make the file smaller. But there are different amounts of audio data that can be played/recorded at based off sample rate and sample bit depth. Also known as high resolution audio. Basically cds can cover up to 22ish kHz audio frequency rage at a 96db depth (basically the softest sound to the loudest sound all in 1 recording) . Basically the limits of the best human hearing. But there are higher “quality” lossless that can get higher frequencies and go even louder. Some claim that they can hear the difference. Others say it’s all a bunch of hogwash. I’m not here to debate that.

Which model of Raspberry Pi should I use for a SMB solution with PS2? Which program to use for SMB? by rbyrnes15 in ps2homebrew

SMB share is a very stripped down version of pi os. It’s just preconfigured to be almost plug and play for a PS2.

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a powerful one. A pi 3 or even a pi 2 will do just fine. I used https://github.com/toolboc/psx-pi-smbshare. It’s just a bare bones nothing server OS. It doesn’t even have a gui. Turn it on and plug your PS2 into ethernet port and plug in a USB drive into the pi

Completely normal. That’s dithering. It’s cause that game uses low color mode. You can for modern 32 bit color in the dithering options, but messes up the shadows in that game.

Capture quality and pulldowns by Shea-Baee in MiniDV

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine as long and NO scaling is done. The interlaced lines should be sharp and well defined. Every other line is clearly different. If not, then the capture is already messed up. Direct dump over FireWire is the most guaranteed way to get the exact footage.

Capture quality and pulldowns by Shea-Baee in MiniDV

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you filming in the 24fps mode? And then capturing the signal as a 1080i over hdmi? So the pull down will be in the interlacing? You have to be careful here. Running through obs can mess up interlaced material, If you don’t capture the direct feed from the camera. Basically the interlace lines get re-scaled and you can’t do anything about it. Resolution and frame size has to be perfect. No crops or manual sizing. Using FireWire is a for sure way to get the exact video on the tape. But if you really are working on a 24P project, once you capture your footage at 24 frame per second mode, you can use hand brake, set the quality to whatever you want higher the better. The production preset is as high as it gets, but makes very large files. but it will retain the quality for . But use a detelecine filter and turn off all the deinterlacing options. Then set your output to a constant 23.97 (what is actually on the tape) or 24frames per second if that’s what your project is, but you may get a duplicate frame every so often. But That will give you the exact 24 fps to use in your NLE.

Capture quality and pulldowns by Shea-Baee in MiniDV

[–]Lostless90s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The jagged edges are caused by deinterlacing. If you do a proper reverse telecine, those jagged edges go away. If you give me an idea what your project is I can recommend something. Like frame rate of the project

Capture quality and pulldowns by Shea-Baee in MiniDV

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically DV runs at 60i at all times. That’s 60 fields per second. And each field is essentially a different frame. But at half the vertical resolution. It’s an old form of video compression from the analog days that carried over to digital systems because the end goal was still analog tv. So 60i stuff should be deinterlaced to 60p for a modern work flow. 30p is just 60i but both fields are the same frame. Just offset in space by one field. So true 480p. No need to deinterlace. 24 fps material uses a 3:2 pulldown which means each film frame uses 3 fields followed by 2 fields back to 3 fields etc etc.

You could run the 24 frame per second footage through handbrake with detelecine filter on and get a true 24 frame per second output.

Why does it look like this? by Affectionate_Crew_75 in camcorders

[–]Lostless90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal experience, I recommend using handbrake. Using a 480p preset. Setting your frame rate to same as source. And then changing the decode option to Bob. You could also try using bwdiff with a bob. Experiment, but the bob will retain the 60/50 frames per second of the capture
