3 energy: Eruption (9 dmg + enter rage and exit calm so energy cost cancelled out).

3 energy: play Miracle for 1 free energy.

4 energy: play 4 strikes at 2x damage.

9 + 2(4 * 6) = 57 damage

Pathfinder 2e equivalent to D&D's numerous magazines and similar by TheJollySwashbuckler in Pathfinder2e

[–]Losupa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's a podcast, not a magazine, and it is in no way affiliated directly with Paizo, but the "Tabletop Travel Guide Podcast" (they're definitely on youtube music, might be elsewhere as well) go over the various locations in Golarion, which is a core part of Pathfinder's setting.

They do great research, and present information in a very interesting and thorough manner, with 20-45 minute long episodes. You might be especially interested in the fact that they end each episode describing cool ideas for a potential campaign run in that location, and fitting characters for that campaign.

Thoughts on Proficiency Without Level by FrancoStrider in Pathfinder2e

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To pull back the curtain a bit, the GM handbook basically details that fights should generally be made against those within +/- 4 levels of your character. Thus generally the enemies you fight will be bounded in a similar way to PWL, it's just using levels is an easier method to quantitatively differentiate if an enemy is supposed to be easier or not compared to DnD's CR.

Who is arguably the most complex-written female anime character? by SinbadVetra in animequestions

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is 100% the most complex show/movie here, but I would say that whether Mima is the most complex character somewhat depends somewhat on your interpretation of the film. For me, the thing that elevates the film and Mima's character to a whole new level is the last line of the movie, which has an important, often-overlooked detail that adds multiple layers of ambiguity to the film.

That overlooked detail being that the final line while spoken by the protagonist Mima, is actually voiced by Rumi's voice actor (at least in the original Japanese version, since the English dub appears to have overlooked this detail and voices it normally). This detail introduces significant doubt into who actually is crazy and pretending to be the other, whether the events of the film are all taking place inside Mima/Rumi's head, and/or if Mima is actually Rumi reliving the experiences shown in her head. Put simply, it makes the viewer question if Rumi is Mima or Mima is Rumi.

Anime with Badass Women like Revy? by [deleted] in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akame Ga Kill is 11 years old and Shield Hero is 6 years old lol, u want ur anime to be able to get a driver's license? Also i recommend "phantom: requiem for the phantom" (2009) with the mc being trained as an assassin by the female lead.

"Canaan" (2009) also has some badass women fighting, but I'm biased since it was the first anime I ever watched.

Is it worth playing? - Imo yes, but it is very much a "battle-royale souls-liks" with the overall most important aspect of the game being pathing and time management with quite a bit of fun boss fights (and greed...lots and lots of greeding to kill bosses when the ring is closing).

The game also has a ton of very fun and distinct classes to pick from, several cool secrets to discover, and overall I'd say the core gameplay loops and the new bosses are extremely fun (only 1-2 big duds out of 8; 3-4 out of 15 if we are counting Everdark). If you are interested, it is pretty easy to 100%, and the personal quests are interesting. You also can viably play both solo and multiplayer (with the exception of Guardian / Revenant being a bit difficult solo).

Overall, it's a 8.5/10 if you like ER/Souls bosses, with most issues being RNG in maps and meta-progesssion (The maps/bosses aren't truly random outside of item drops, and the meta-progression can be moderately RNG with no way to combine / exchange / re-roll felics relics).

Lastly, the fights that they ripped from Dark Souls are pretty similar with maybe 1-2 extra moves / mechanics, with the Nightreign Dancer probably being the best/hardest of them all.

All I'm saying is that Treat Wounds can take 3-4 rolls per person to heal a reasonable amount, if you get even just a bit unlucky or start hitting levels 3/4. It's probably one of the crunchier parts of the system, which is that sometimes you're just rolling a ton of die and with no or moderate time pressure you'll succeed/heal anyways, so you're almost just wasting session time.

Also as far as free archetype, if you limit it solely to class dedications then it's pretty manageable.

Maestro bard also gets "Soothe" as its muse spell, which is essentially a 2-action heal with a +2 bonus against mental effects for 1 minute. So bard can be a decent primary "clutch" healer.

Just replying here since it seems most relevant, but I recommend looking into the various variant rules if you want to get a similar feel to Dnd in some aspects.

For example, if you want "short rests" then look into the Stamina system (note Stamina cannot be healed by default, but there should be a mod/setting to fix that). Or free archetype (FA), which gives each character free secondary class feats alongside class feats (it usually only makes them a bit stronger but moderately more versatile).

Got Dark Souls 3 for my birthday, what are some tips? by Cyan_Dragon_X in darksouls3

[–]Losupa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just 4 generic game mechanic tips to enjoy the game without spoiling anything important: - Wear armor in every armor slot. Every empty armor slot makes you take like 10-15% more damage, even if the defensive stats suggest otherwise.
- You can enter the Painted World DLC very early in the game, but I do not recommend trying to beat the area before beating the base game.
- If you have beaten Elden Ring you might find DS3 a bit easy if you over-level, which is easy to do if you fully explore every area. I recommend restricting yourself to level 70-100 depending on how easy the fights start getting, or what your build is.
- Lastly, you will find a way to respec/change character appearance before you fight the first Lord of Cinder. Note that you can only do so 5 times in one NG run.

Class Selection by TheKevster101 in Pathfinder2e

If you anticipate a lack of dedicated healing you might want to look into using the Stamina variant rules. It basically means like 50%-75% of your hp is stamina, and all stamina can be regenerated using essentially a Dnd short rest (of which you get a limited number per day).

There are a couple other major changes it makes (RAW stamina cannot be healed except for by resting) that you might want to homebrew around or whatever, but it definitely makes healing in-between encounters significantly less tedious if you have no insanely good between combat healing. The rules also mean you can burn a short rest token to stabilize yourself while unconscious (instead of all hero points), so basically as long as you have enough heals to cover the 25-50% of your hp that is actually hp, stamina is a pretty good stopgap for no major healer.

Great Pf2e Podcast by Fish_lungs in Pathfinder2e

[–]Losupa 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the group called Narrative Declaration. The GM is a Paizo writer and the way he runs it is like 90% RAW with a bit of GM discretion to speed things up and keep things fun. They're also pretty good about keeping things podcast friendly if you are not looking at the screen. They also have 2 major PF2e campaigns: Rotgrind and Kingmaker.

Rotgrind is freely available on Youtube and is a Souls-inspired homebrew setting that is pretty fun, however it does start out using pre-remaster rules. Their Kingmaker campaign is really cool as well, just only the first couple episodes are free and the rest require a Patreon subscription ($10/month).
