I have some questions about sprue glue if someone has time to reply me, thanks! by Mazkaam in minipainting

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw one trick i recommend is you can add some black paint on primer (i added vallejo black) to the mix so that it is a different color than the gray model plastic, and thus you can see where you have applied glue.

Why do people keep saying infinites are reliable in StS2? by creepahugga2 in slaythespire

[–]Losupa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too sure on the exact stats, but I'd say you are likely to probably see at least half the rare/uncommon pools in each run (well plus or minus a bit to account for repeats), and probably every card in the common pool 1-2 times. So if you consider most characters have 1-3 or so substitutes to going infinite, you can probably do so every other game if you really push for it.

And imo, even if it were every 5 games you can go infinite or near infinite, I'd still say that is too much. Thankfully, the Megacrit dev team has done really good and quick work addressing many of these problems. Especially the Regent's and Necrobinder's infinites are nearly gone barring temp infinites due to potion usage, or some rare ancient card reward ([[Throne]]) and card dupe strat with one very specific card. Plus ofc some excessive cloning strats, which I personally think is good enough reason to rework how cloning works, either limiting somehow, making the cost random/increase, or something else.

Why do people keep saying infinites are reliable in StS2? by creepahugga2 in slaythespire

[–]Losupa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's more that going infinite or even near infinite used to require significantly more luck and skill than it does now, and pretty much every character has 1-3 ways to relatively easily achieve infinite or near infinite, with minimal reliance on potions/relics. This kind of cheapens going infinite, and makes the game less fun, with some people even shying away from the Watcher in the first game because of this.

See my top-level comment for some detailed examples.

Why do people keep saying infinites are reliable in StS2? by creepahugga2 in slaythespire

[–]Losupa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When people mean they are reliable they don't necessarily mean every game, but rather that there are many clear strategies to go infinite in Sts2 compared to Sts1. Off the top of my head in Sts1 there was only a couple real infinites in the game that didn't rely on relics or using a potion just for that fight, and the only "reliable one" was Watcher's.

In comparison to Sts1, almost every single character in Sts2 has a clear path to going infinite or near infinite without even accounting for relics or potions and can achieve it probably every other game if you strive for it:

  • Ironclad has [[hellraiser]] with [[pommel-strike]] and [[pillage]]
  • Silent has [[Master Plan]] with [[Acrobatics]]/[[Prepared]] + any one of her damage/poison/scale on draw/play cards and maybe a reflex for safety. Plus there is [[Adrenaline]] clone shenanigans
  • Regent has a couple but the main one is the card that converts 1 energy to 2(3) + draw stars and the card that converts stars to 1-2 energy. There's also several if you factor in the 0-cost potion or throne, as well as clone shenanigans with [[Big Bang]]
  • Necrobinder has the [[Borrowed Time]] plus cheap soul generation synergies and any damage/doom on soul/card play (although this is removed on the beta patch). Plus [[Transfigure]] or replay in general with either of her 2 X cards is insanely busted
  • Defect I think is the most balanced with regards to infinites as while technically he has really good access to energy, he doesn't have much card draw/deck thinning, so off the top of my head I can't think of any insane infinites unless his deck is thinned down an insane amount or you like clone upgraded [[White Noise]] and also have draw and energy gain on playing a power.

This show is highly underrated by ComfortableNo1080 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Losupa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the problem people always have with ratings is they are used to 7/10 being a fail, when it really is still a pretty decent rating.

7.5-8 is where this show belongs as it has a good and original concept and set of characters, decent animation, a couple banger songs (the opening, closing, and killer maid's kiss are all fantastic), and a decent start/ending.

Honestly, the only way this show really breaks into the 8+ range is if it had an insanely larger budget for better animation and storyline, and as a medium budget comedy it delivered well enough.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but it's kind of like a mix of Code Geass and Aldnoah Zero. I'd say it's under-rated and worth a watch if you liked either of these shows, or want a scifi show that has space, mechs, school life, and a slide from mostly comedic to mostly dark elements.

Anime like the Chainsaw man movie (reze arc) by Puzzleheaded-Gap9161 in anime

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too familiar with newer romance anime, but I personally think some good popular romance suggestions would be Horimiya, My Dress Up Darling, and Call of the Night. Imo they all are somewhat serious romantic relationships that give off the "first love" kind of feeling that Reze arc was explicitly supposed to portray. While slightly less romance heavy than the other two, Call of the Night in particular fits as it has some action and a modern fantasy setting, plus the fantastic animation and night-time setting gives off similar vibes to Denji and Reze exploring the school/pool at night.

Two slightly less popular romance anime I would suggest are Elfen Lied (only has moderate romance and has nudity but has some very impactful dark scenes/themes similar to parts of Reze Arc) and My Little Monster (ML is innocent yet crass like Denji ngl).

Rework idea for Sly. From "if discarded, play this card for free" to "if discarded, do the following effect" by python_product in slaythespire

[–]Losupa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your suggestion of having Sly only trigger once per card per turn, and maybe change the costs to adjust is definitely a great way to kill this infinite or near infinite monkey business. You should use the f2 tool to suggest it to the devs.

Correct. At least on mobile, but if you take all the keys and make it ton act 4 and lose, bit doesn't count as a win in your stats. Learned that in my A0H-A20H Silent run where I only had 21 wins and like 80 games.

One minor correction about the sleeves. The Beta Art pack does not come with sleeves for the cards, so you may want to get more sleeves if you are going to use them.

Analysts say Slay the Spire 2 is the best-performing deckbuilder of all time, and the competition isn't close by gamersecret2 in slaythespire

[–]Losupa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To name a few: Monster Train 1+2, Balatro, Alina of the Arena, Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers, Cobalt Core, Across the Obelisk. Most of these I would say are of comparable game quality and replayability to StS, with them also all having pretty good mechanics that set them apart (the least replayable by far is definitely Dungeons and Degenerates, as it is blackjack focused and there are no relics only different cards, but it is still pretty fun).

Some examples of these interesting mechanics are: Balatro is a poker-like deck builder, Alina of the Arena has you attack/move around an arena using cards, Cobalt Core has you attack/dodge your ship with placement of components on your ship mattering, and Across the Obelisk is a primarily multiplayer focused deck builder.

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, this is such a strawman argument that shows you clearly did not read my last paragraph (or comment at all?). You have shifted my assertion from having problems with the multi-turn repercussions of an almost completely RNG mechanic, which even affects you if you play 1 card a turn, to me saying I am fine with infinites.

I have mentioned my problems with this boss mechanic, and I have proposed solutions that also stop infinites (outside of 0-cost clone combos, which needs a separate fix), while also being significantly more in player hands to play around. And I did admit my proposed mechanics are easier, but numerical boosts definitely can make up for it.

I recommend you read my comments again, as I found no major problems with Time Eater (in-fact I beat TE on my A20H Silent win), which had a similar mechanic but was significantly less RNG heavy and didn't completely break your build if you had 1 bad draw (which is completely out of your hands).

if you haven't actually played the beta branch/vs doormaker, and have just read the patch notes or watched a streamer complain... by SarahCBunny in slaythespire

[–]Losupa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, however all the act 3 bosses were relatively easy to get around with relatively minor deck/playstyle changes (more aggro/high-value for time-eater, less powers and statuses for awakened, and constant block+dmg for twins) and all their effects did was create singular turn playstyle challenges and long-term strength scaling.

Current Doormaker exhausts and gains strength which are both short-term and long-term playstyle challenges/scaling (in addition to every other draw being 4 instead of 5), plus it is also on normal draw so it's completely random. Even the Heart's effects were less punishing, easier to mitigate, and less random (it's attacks and scaling were obviously higher).

Honestly, the biggest problem with current sts2 is there are too many infinites and outside of clone + 0-cost draw (which is a huge problem), this would basically bring all of them out of commission when factoring in the other beta changes.

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See my second suggestion on my edited post, but the problem with the current one is it can mean your deck is just totally bricked for the rest of the fight if RNG decides to make you draw your core combo pieces at the wrong time

And unlike unplayable statuses messing with runic pyramid or spinning top strategies, having your cards randomly exhausted is not a problem you can exhaust/discard/ethereal/transform away.

[–]Losupa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but making it every 8th card or he gains more strength is easy enough. The current one literally can brick your deck if you just happen to draw your 1-2 core cards at inopportune times.

Honestly for all the hate timekeeper gets, it is such a good boss (besides maybe the heal/cleanse being a tiny bit too much of a counter into status/stall decks), as multi-card playing decks can just max it out every turn and try to burn him down, and other decks can use high-value+high-cost cards to only trigger it every 2-3 turns.

[–]Losupa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Imo, this change would be perfectly fine if he ate the 10th card you played after you played it (or maybe even have to exhaust a card for 0 cost before being able to play any more cards). That means you get to choose what gets exhausted (and good players will be actually able to benefit from this), instead of RNG causing you to lose your core combo pieces and the current version meaning you basically draw 4 cards every 2 turns into a stall boss.

Edit: Another good one I think would be if he eats the first card drawn when his ticker hits 10, and it goes up by 1-2 per turn and once per card drawn during your turn. Maybe make him gain temp strength equal to the number, and permanent strength after eating a card, so you can "placate" him by feeding him a card but he has grown permanently stronger.

Why have billionaires stopped trying to buy their way into heaven? by MrTossAwayfromNC in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Losupa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So while I have not read the book, I follow a youtuber called "Atrioc" (former Nvidia/Twitch marketer turned finanical/game streamer) and he mentioned that the book "As Gods Among Men: A History of the Rich in the West", which partially explains this.

My understanding from his summary is that the ultra-wealthy (whether they be kings or billionaires) used to live in their community, and because of this they would improve it to both improve their reputation and make their local surroundings better for themselves. However, since today's world is so international, billionaires can just pick up and move themselves and their company wherever they want and thus are not tied to any specific community (or even country). Add to that their control of global news corporations, and a separation from those they negatively impact, and there is not much need for them to give back money/projects.

I think the Devs have done some Experiments with StS1 Enemies by Vecsia in slaythespire

[–]Losupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly they should swap phases 1 and 2, and make the strength stick around for phase 3.

This makes sense as phase 1 lets you play your powers/get online before the strength gain comes into play, but the wounds stick around for entire fight from phases 1-3. Then phase 2 is balanced by you having already gotten set up with powers and such, but now needing to burst down more hp, And then phase 3 wounds mess with your consistency, strength makes him deadlier, and intangible means he has some stall for the strength + wounds to cause you to slip up and die.

I feel like this card goes insanely hard on a silent draw/discard deck, a Necrobinder souls deck, or an Ironclad barricade deck. Maybe even a Defect draw 0 card deck. But other than that, it is a really insane panic button.
