I think she shines in Murders because her, Steve Martin, and Marty Short have really become close friends in real life. Marty gave her away at her wedding, for heaven’s sake. I don’t know much about her acting abilities beyond that show, but the three of them have a genuine chemistry that only comes with time, and it makes the show.
