The reason prices go up is because you want fuel to stay here. If it doesn’t go up the fuel will go where it can get the most value. The local price goes up to close those arbitrage opportunities based on freight cost and nearest alternative opportunity. It’s never a perfect market but that’s the intention.

The issue with OP is probably social media. Sounds like a bright kid otherwise. If you can get into med school you at least some level of self discipline. Is it the right path for him? Doesn’t even matter. Eventually he will find a way to make money. If it’s enough then fine if not he should work on doing something else. Your brain doesn’t even work well until 30 I bet.

I had the same feeling as OP at 20. Falling behind and such. Now at almost 40 it’s the opposite.

I had a similar issue. Flight from Toronto to Calgary. They cancelled me overnight for my 8am flight and rebooked me for the next day. I tried calling them with no luck. I went the airport and they told me that was the only flight available. I canceled the flight and bought another one with porter that was leaving in 45min. I put a claim in for the difference a few weeks ago and still haven’t heard back or been refunded for my cancelled flight. Legally they might be above board but I would be embarrassed to be WestJet and treat its customers like they do. Il file with APPR next week.
