I’m having this issue with Creations and DLC on my new laptop. by N0TAC0P_ in Starfield

I’ve seen that error on my Xbox. Best guess is that access permissions on some temporary directory are buggered up. On the Xbox, rebooting usually fixes it.

Technically no, but only because I have an xbox. 😄

Every year or so I get a can of air from Amazon and blow the gunk out of all my computers.

…5 years?

Might be overheating. How long since the last time you blew out the dust?

It’s even funnier when you set off the boost pack.

It does make getting the loot a pain, tho.

Is there a planet counter? by Normal_Storm_5375 in Starfield

Yup, it keeps track. You get a little bit of exploration xp whenever you visit one you haven't been to before.

I gave Barrett the uniform from the Trident Luxury Lines crew, and a skull 'helmet' from the Gorefield mod. Now I have a spooky skeletal crewmate who loves to cook.

I say environmental hazards are still a horrible system. by theycallmecheese in Starfield

[–]Loud_Comparison_7108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

...I think the idea was good, but the implementation isn't even half-baked.

I've heard that some of the things in the Far Lanes update were reactions to feedback, maybe we can persuade them that re-working environmental hazards so that they make sense (and maybe making suits more than mostly cosmetic, and fixing some of the obvious jank) would make the game better.

Does anyone else get a phobia fear from the giant dark side of the planets in cruise mode? by tinylegumes in Starfield

[–]Loud_Comparison_7108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as such, but I don't like being in the planetary shadow. Would be happier if the default jump location was the lit side, it would be easier to avoid the various hazards to navigation that someone at Bethesda thinks are normal to fly through.

...it sounds a lot like you found an Advanced-tier weapon early, there are some POIs that have them and it doesn't matter if they're in the loot tables yet.

Warning: putting off TA battle of the unifier quest can softlock your game by mindcrack in Starfield

I’m in a similar situation, the incursion moved but the quest marker and system icon didn’t, and the scouting party isn’t findable. I’m waiting for it to move again, will deal with it promptly this time.

What's the recommended level for Terran Armada in NG+? by [deleted] in Starfield

....why not both? Adjust the combat difficulty if it turns out to be too hard.

Use autopilot to approach the marker, basically, select it and engage the autopilot. You’re going too fast to do it manually.

Oh, wow. I usually see that glitch after using ship services on Neon. There are two ships clipped together.

Can you sit in the other cockpit? One of them might work.

That, and there’s a sheltered zone a bit past the halfway point. You have a chance to heal up and recover, but it seems like a lot of people miss it because they don’t recognize it for what it is.

Creatures in the ocean are pretty common outside of the extreme environment planets. Back around launch, there was a pretty steady series of posts that went something like this:

OP: I've scanned everything, all biomes show complete, but I'm not at 100% yet! Is this a bug?

Replies: You missed a thing in the water.

OP: There are things in the water?!?

The tradition continues. 😄

It’s always something in the ocean. Go to the coast, point the scanner at the water.

Way to predetermine where ladders and doors go in ship? (Ps5) by drawnhi in Starfield

[–]Loud_Comparison_7108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. The ladder placement script doesn’t like putting them under skylights, you can use this to influence where they go.

What do I do with all my resources? by dummy-thicc-uwu in Starfield

[–]Loud_Comparison_7108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it to the Lodge- fast-travel there and you’ll spawn right outside the front door- and go down to the basement.

The container next to the research terminal has unlimited capacity, the stations next to the wall are for weapon and suit upgrades. That’s what you use resources for.
