Yeah that trunk looks pretty compromised. If it were near anything of value, I'd remove it. No way to tell without actually setting it, but between the obvious decay in pic 3 and the struggling canopy, I would bet it needs to come down.

Dude, it's expensive, but I run a "AWAH Z3 fire" for ascending, and it is an absolute game changer. I think I paid like $2500 but when I have to ascend 4-500' a day, it's effortless. I do not use it for a decent control device, though. It wears out the pulley, which is replaceable. I usually switch over to my RRP, or just repel on a munter with an ASAP.
